Free agent options for Dallas at LBer

I think Chenal is more of how Dallas will want to go. Solid #'s in multiple schemes, a top 15 LB against the pass. You can pretty much eliminate Lloyd due to value.

End of the day though for market value.

Lloyd $20.1m
Bush $8.9m
Chenal $4.6m
Leo Chenal isn’t going to sign for anywhere near $4.6M. $10M/year minimum

Just saying what was reported from Spotrac

As of early 2026, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal has developed into a quality starting run-stopper, with projected market value for his next contract estimated around
$4.7 to $6.25 million per year. Following his four-year, $5 million rookie deal, he is projected to secure a multi-year contract (e.g., three years, $14 million) in the 2026 offseason.
Market Value & Contract Projections (2026):
  • Projected Annual Value: ~$4.7 million - $6.25 million.
  • Projected Total Value: A 3-year, $14 million contract is a frequently cited projection for him as a free agent.

It'll be interesting to see what his market looks like. He's a fantastic player when on the field, but KC really only let him be an early down player who gets around 30 snaps per game. If multiple teams view him as a 3 down player a bidding war may drive his value way up, but if not he may very well end up around that $5m per year range.

Unless downs is there I’m more on the edge and LB train . We couldn’t get pressure to save our you know what
I agree. We’re just not good at creating pressure, and a lot of that comes down to a lack of creativity from Eberwuss. The few times we actually brought pressure and sent blitzes, good things happened. That’s why it was frustrating to see us immediately go back to playing conservative.

I do think the pressure can be there, but it gets wasted when our DBs are lined up 20 yards off the line of scrimmage. If you give receivers that much cushion, they’re going to convert — and that’s exactly what happened.

Personnel-wise, I wouldn’t mind adding someone like Casius Howell and using him the way Denver uses Nick Bonitto. That kind of role fits perfectly with what Parker wants to do defensively and could really help the pass rush.

Devin Bush is my target as well he will not be “ cheap “ he wants to cash in on the 125 tackles he was in on plus three INT’s 2 were pick 6. He’s still young enough at 27 to lead the position group .
Hard pass Nakobe Dean too many missed games . Your other LB add on should be a draft pick anyway not two FA LB’ers
I want Devin Bush too, but we were almost about to pay Logan Wilson $6.5 million. We should be willing to pay Devin Bush around $8–9 million, which I think is a fair price.

I do tend to agree regarding Nakobe Dean, but I think it’s worth taking a flyer on him. Given his injury history, I think he will be cheaper. I also believe he will help with implementing Parker’s defensive scheme throughout our defense.

Think this could be the most likely outcome........
I'm not sure if the LBers will be Bush and Dean ( def possible ), but I certainly can see taking care of LBer via free agency and targeting secondary with our two 1st. The only exception is another pass rusher but if we resign Clowney, the priority may not be as much.
If they don’t end up signing Clowney, I really hope they go after Devin Lloyd. I think he could be signed for around $12–13 million. That’s a significant amount, but he could fill a similar role while being a better overall fit for our defense. It might be wishful thinking, but he would be my ideal free‑agency pickup.

We hear Quincy Williams a lot but that mainly seems due to him being Quentin’s brother.

He’s not even a top 50 free agent and just barely top 100.
You're right about Quincy.
The connection is obvious with Quinnen plus we need LBs, but he is really likely not the right fit for us. Parker likes disciplined LBs, and Quincy is not that. He's more the kind of player who takes chances a lot, sometimes it pays off and he has a highlight real play, but sometimes his mistakes cost his teammates. For the money, we would be better off with a younger, disciplined and versatile LB. I personally like Chanel and Bush, and I love Nakobe, just concerned about his price tag and injury history.

Another challenge is timing. FA starts 6 weeks before the draft.
So how do we approach this? Jerry normally does nothing in early FA.
IMO, of the 5 defensive position groups, we need significant help (2 players) at all but DT (assuming we keep Clark). Clearly, we should be able to get impact players with the 2 first rounders.
The best way to approach would be to sign a FA at all 4 positions before the draft (Edge, LB, S and CB), then see how the draft turns out, then fill final holes in post draft FA. I'd sign Clowney (I year 7 mil), Rasul Douglas (I year 5 mil), he could start for us for a year while young players develop, Chanel (4/24) he can play MIKE or SAM LB, and Kam Curl 4/32. That gives us 2 core pieces and 2 short term vets. Then we can get BPA in the draft.
I just have a hard time seeing the Jones' being that aggressive.

We need at least one, maybe two........

honestly i want Dean and Singleton because they know the defense and can come in fill holes to start. give FO who we need to draft BPA and move one. also it gives you a rotation of guys. hopefully neither break the bank.

I really wanted Chenal in the draft a few years a go. Looked a beast in college.
Bring Williams in to join his big bro.

They have options and while I understand not throwing stupid money at someone they should be able to land 1-2 guys on decent deals.

Singleton is a bit of tough guy and enforcer. I watched some of the Broncos games and the dude is always hitting hard, tackling and ripping at the ball.
Might bring some attitude to this defense.

Current roster
Liufau
James
Overshown
Barron
Land

I wouldn't be surprised by some $2-$3M signings and one in the draft. Anything more would be a nice surprise.
