Cowboys will not tender Brock Hoffman

You think every player is a valuable player you're just like Garrett and Jerry!! It's ok to say that a player isn't good enough to be retained
He’s a pretty solid backup center/ Guard who still wouldn’t be expensive. There is value to that. He’s as good as bass to me

This is the thing- Hoffman is a very good backup. Someone that can hold things down at guard or center for a week or two if the starter turns an ankle or something.

If a team counts on Hoffman to be a 17 game starter and a line achor.....eh he's not really that guy.

you can pick one up in the draft or UDFA much cheaper
Not likely you get a guy as an UDFA ready to be the backup in nfl. But I guess they could have another option or use Bass. He did work some at center before. I mean to me he was a valuable as bass

He might be just because there aren't many good C in the league.

Ironically, I think Dallas is one of the places that would be the best fit for him because of the guards they have.

What is he is one of those guys that get the highest signing bonus he may something to his game

I doubt he gets a huge deal. But he’s a pretty solid backup who can play 2 positions. He made 1mil last year so he’s gonna get more than that

It’s the cap
That's an excuse. They don't have to give him a first-round or second-round offer to tender him. A tender, even the lowest one, just gives the team the right to match any offer.

I'm thinking they expect him to be offered more than they want to pay so they know they will lose him with a right to refuse tag. Which is no compensation and doesn't count towards compensatory picks. By refusing a tender he automatically becomes a free agent and now compensatory picks do come into play even if it's just to cancel out one of their own.

Trouble is, if they let him go, they have to go find a backup center. Maybe the coaches have someone in mind or feel they can find a backup there late in the draft since center seems to be one of those positions where late-round picks work out decently.

Oh! Well this is a little surprising. He is a valuable player for them. Unless they think his replacement is already on the roster this is a little bit of a gamble. I did not see this coming. It will be interesting to see what happens. He will get offers.
i would think its a failed agreement between the two parties.. Hoffmans' versatility and tenacity should draw interest - and i wouldn't be surprised if some NFL teams
will lure & recruit him as a starter.

He will surely be missed. I think he will play for the Commanders or go to Pittsburg.

Dallas has an estimated 10-15M to spend on UFAs.

They couldn’t afford him.

Bass was the winner.

They can pickup a vet for 1M after the FA signing circus is over.

It’s about the $$$

They didn’t want to pay 5M
