It was my understanding that Dallas is unable to trade a 2027 1st round pick until its decided which pick goes to NY. I haven't found anything to confirm or disprove this.

Does anyone know if this is true or not

I wondered that too. Nobody has spoken on it.

I’m a zig while everyone zags guy. If everyone wants to save their pick….i might see what my 1st next year can get me this year.

Once again, our GM has proven his value...........LOL!

I thought it was already settled that it was their own pick that was traded, not Green Bay’s.

Dallas is free to trade their 2027 first round pick but it has to be the lower one. It can be used in a trade right now.

Is that official or just assumption? I can’t even find anything on it.
Official from what I read and researched. Here is a snippet:

The Dallas Cowboys do not have their 2027 first-round picks "frozen,"
but they are heavily restricted. Following the Quinnen Williams trade, the New York Jets are set to receive the higher of the two 2027 first-round picks the Cowboys possess (their own and the Packers' via the Micah Parsons trade).
Cowboys Wire +2
  • 2027 Pick Status: The Jets receive the better of the two 2027 first-round picks, while the Cowboys keep the lower one.
  • Flexibility: The Cowboys are free to trade the 2027 pick that remains in their possession, though it is currently considered a "lower" pick (assuming the Packers perform better).
  • Draft Capital: Despite this, the Cowboys are projected to have multiple first-round picks in 2026, including their own and Green Bay's.
  • Current Outlook: The Cowboys are expected to have a first-round selection in both 2026 and 2027

Either way, they need not trade yet another premium pick for a highly paid player.

Just open the damn wallet already and keep your picks.

Are you sure? I do remember it being reported that the pick was frozen until it officially conveys
If I recall correctly, the highest of the two have been marked for the Jets, therefore I would assume the other pick could be traded as the lower of the two.

I'd assume if they really wanted to move a 1st, an condition could be attached with the team acquiring the pick now in that it's the later of the 1st round picks

I did NOT catch that part of things. That was a stupid move.

I’ve heard of that stuff in the NBA but never the NFL.
I didn’t mind it because it gave the Cowboys incentive to go all in this year. Packers under LaFleur seems to be a playoff team prior to Micah and with him.

But if they don’t have a good offseason im pretty sure that pick will be low again.

Jerry strikes again.

I like Q a lot, even before we got him, but jeez Jerry. Now you’ve got three hugely paid DTs while switching to a 34 base.

I dunno. It’s just absurd already. No move ever seems tied to another.

Problem is….theres no premium talent out there. The best player out there is Hendrickson who has injury concerns.
