Should we get Maxx should we get Trey, does anyone remember we have so many needs on this defense. Yes they could surely add to helping us generate a pass rush. Let's plug in Parker our new DC, maybe there are players out there in FA that he could convince to come play for him. We get more bang for our buck instead of just one big ticket DE.

I'm not saying I don't want either, but we have to explore all options in making this defense get the players it needs!! Please give your thoughts

I too want spare parts instead of legit starters.

Who needs a Trey Hendrickson when we can sign the Fowlers, Payton Turners, S. Thomas in FA and make shred trades for Murray and Elam.

I mean, the AAV's will match. 5 >1
Stephen has his BOGO coupons ready to go.

lol just messing with you.

Trading two first-round picks for Crosby would be a mistake. I’m not convinced he’s even a clean fit for a Fangio-style defense, especially at the price it would take to acquire him. Giving up that kind of draft capital feels like the kind of short-term, headline move our owner/GM loves to make, not the kind that actually fixes the roster.

Even if Crosby is a great player, adding him alone isn’t going to move the needle enough. This defense has too many holes—corner, safety, linebacker—and burning premium picks only makes that problem worse.

If you want to improve the pass rush, there are smarter options. Someone like Boye Mafe could likely be had for $10–12 million per year without giving up draft picks. He’s younger, still ascending, and fits the scheme better. That path strengthens the defense without crippling the rest of the rebuild.

Going after Crosby sounds like the desperation of an owner/GM who wants to stay relevant but, in all honesty, is just a fool pretending to be a GM.

They can sign whoever they want. Getting a high dollar player doesn't stop them from signing anybody.

No hard feelings!! But we get a trey and or Max and we still don't make the playoffs or win the big one just food for thought, I'd rather have and let's not get funny here let's get QUALITY DEPTH not scrubs

You said that perfectly!!!

Ok but we can use more money to sign more players, one big name isn't going to change the defense. I mean hell maybe he could help others win their matchups etc but we need more than one guy

There’s a price that makes sense for Crosby. For this team it makes more sense to use your salary on a bunch of players. The Crosby crowd believes we will sign Crosby and be players in free agency. I don’t see it. Rams doing it makes sense even Philly.

Just mentioning this on another thread, when you look at the Eagles, they really never had one. Seattle who just won the SB didn't have one, either. Might be better suited to add more capable numbers then 1 big ticket fa.

That's always been the plan. Keep up.
Wake up and say good morning you must didn't sleep well!!

I'm tired of hearing about it sheesh just do something

I'm not a cap guy so my first question is assuming they're willing to offer a player more than a one year contract and more than the vet minimum what is our budget?

I watched a video yesterday from The Fan and they thought a little over $50M

So assuming that's true I'd like about three or four starters (e.g. Jones, Thompson etc.) and some good backup/rotational guys (e.g. Douglas, Cisco, speed etc.)

It's a lot to expect for any rookie taken on day three to make meaningful contributions this season.

Crosby does change the defense.

They need 6 starters on defense....get two top tier FAs, two tier 2 FAs, and the two first round picks....

Done.

Then use the back of the draft for bpa and fill in the gaps with bargin bin guys

coogi
these quotes from multiple people all in one post of yours, its really neato.

:flagwave:

They need difference makers on defense. We can debate of Crosby is that guy but I think they need to stop settling for middle of the pack players just because they are cheaper. Of course, if they can find a player like Zack Baun who was middle of the pack and broke out with the Eagles that would be great but that doesn't happen that often.

Winning a SB doesn't come easy.
