News: Ravens back out of Crosby trade

Not for the cost of 2 firsts. But at a reduced cost? Like 20th and a 3rd? Absolutely. I want difference makers. Gary has 1 move and it’s a bull rush. Outside of Thompson everyone else we signed are role players or depth pieces.

A guy like Crosby is a difference maker however I was against the price the ravens paid.

I do know however you’d have to be an idiot to think that this injury is so severe that all the other teams who went after him weren’t aware of it. It was known.
We the fans do not have the imaging reports, physical exam results, etc. Teams get SOME information from existing medical reports and imaging from the players and the trading team. Then the trading team gets to have their own doctors and healthcare team do another set of exams and potentially more imaging. Based on their own medical team, the prior assessment of extent of injury can get thrown out or the trade fulfilled.

I know the Cowboys did extensive medical exams on Jaylon Smith, LVE, Sean Lee, etc. They still drafted them in the first two rounds when other teams passed in part due to medical evaluations. Teams will put together a trade proposal and then assess on the physical. Some teams pass the player’s physical if the player passes a breathing air exam (Cowboys)-other teams have more strict evaluations (other teams). Not all information is available prior to a trade agreement. The fantasy of a healthy Crosby playing for the Cowboys is what you are holding onto. Who knows what Crosby will do this season-not any of us.

I just see the Eagles making this move, not for two 1's but they have a lot of picks in this draft.
Isn’t their player compensation tied up in existing contracts? Their GM stated not to expect any “big splash” this offseason. Crosby would be a gigantic splash. They need their draft picks to add talent at a controlled compensation to be able to afford what they have and want to sign in the near future. They’re not players for him.

Commanders, maybe.

I wouldn't count the Eagles out on this.
If the price drops (which it will) the Eagles could offer their first and the comp 3rd this year, then ac3rd next year ( they will likely her awarded a comp 3rd for Phillips).
That may end up a solid offer for the Raiders.
The Eahles can restructure or extend him to get his cap number under 10, and would still have their 2nd and the Kets 3rd for TE and Safety.
Imagine Crosby on that line with Carter.
Ughhhh.

I would bet they get him or Trey to replace Phillips.

The whole thing is absolutely shady… there’s no way you should be able to renege on a deal after the start free agency after the start of the legal tampering period.
This is a case of cold feet and don’t believe anything about a physical.

it wouldn’t surprise me if Ravens talked to Hendrickson liked his price and said damn i’ll take Hendrickson and my two first rounders over Maxx. it’s gonna be interesting to see how this plays out and see what the Ravens come out and present to the world what they saw on that physical that merits them backing out.

they won't have to. if other teams test him & say he's good, it would mean the Ravens were either very risk averse or were indeed shady.

Are you people insane? Now you are only giving up a 3rd AT MOST for Crosby? Maxx Crosby? Oh FFS this board
You hold all the cards now. They don’t have to do it at all. Much less prob can’t anyway. I’m just not giving up a 1st for a failed physical even if it was cold feet by ravens. I don’t think he’s “hurt” I just don’t think his knee is good for a long term contract because it’ll be hard if you don’t know if the knee is 1 or 10 years from going bad

To be fair, no team has managed their roster over the past 25 years better than the Baltimore Ravens.

They know what they're doing.
This. I hope jerry's paying attention.

They were very close to keeping Jaelen Phillips who signed for $30m and they have a need for an edge.

They could make this work

Eagles dont have the cap space. Theyd have to get under 40 million in order to trade for him. 30 million for Maxx and roughly 10 for their draft class. Theyd have to flip some switches. They were dumb to not get rid of AJ to the Patriots for a 1 and a 3rd.

No he wasn't.....He was crying the night of the trade...He doesn't want to leave Vegas....and he only wants to play for one team. It's his legacy...I can't blame him for wanting to leave it intact.
Dudes been asking to leave since the trade deadline. If you think the benching was the turning point then I have a bridge to Hawaii id like to sell you.

That gets his number under 10 for 2026.
Difficult but they could do it.
I hope they don't lol.
Dids the Pat's offer a 1st and 3rd for AJ?
I thought that was just Howies asking price, which he won't get.

Maxx Crosby probably spoke up and said to the Raiders front office, "Hey, like America's Cowboy said on Cowboys Zone, "Trade me to where I want to go (Cowboys) and stop being so darn greedy on your demands! Settle for a 1st and 2nd round picks!" I have sacrificed so many times for Raiders Nation. Time for you Raiders to return me the favor."
