Ah, I didn’t bother to read.

It would make sense as sources said that they wanted to come out of the offseason with 2 impact defensive players, which while solid, I wouldn’t classify Gary and Thompson as being such.

The age, injuries, plus cost probably did end up ultimately push Crosby and Hendrickson away from them while initially they were considering making a play for either.

Chubb is 29
Had 8.5 sacks last year coming off injury in 2024.
His deal is basically 2 years 29 mil guaranteed.

Micah (an elite Edge) makes 47.
Jaelan Phillips just got 30. He had 5 sacks last year. And also injury concerns.
Oweh got 25 with 7.5 sacks.
Chubb is 14.5 APY.

The cap is over 300 million.
In 4 years it will likely be over 400

Chubbs deal is a pretty good deal for a productive player.
Essentially 2 years 29 mil guaranteed
