FEATURED Free Agency 2026 thread

But why unload his contract.
It's 2.5 mil for a good depth piece.
He was a solid, serviceable, backup DT for us .
He was ranked in the top half of DTs last year. For 2.5 million.
Why do you feel compelled to move that player? And you just traded OSA which means Thomas would get more snaps.
What do we have now if Quinnen goes down? Nothing. We had a solid veteran at low cost. Why move that guy?
We jumped up 7 spots in theb7th round.
Clearly Christian Parker does not want 280 pound defensive tackles in his scheme. He kept Kenny Clark and signed Ogbonnia. And Quinnen Williams is also a big body. If Thomas does not fit in the scheme keeping him around at any cost made no sense. We just got rid of a DC that ran a scheme that did not fit the players in Eberflus.

They are probably going to draft someone and are also likely to find an affordable veteran backup. Like Thomas was himself last year.

This team has too many needs and just got gifted a top 100 pick to fill one. I would hold off on Crosby until the truth about his knee emerges.
Dude it’s a meniscus. If we were talking ACL it’d be different. It’s fine

Is it different for football?

I have PTSD with Rose and meniscus. I’ll never recover from that as a sports fan. Not making the championship game in the NFL for thirty years doesn’t bother me as much.

What?

It was a meniscus repair, which takes a few months to recover from. I had the same surgery. However, if need be, the meniscus can be removed completely and you can walk the same day. Yes you’ll end up with arthritis when you’re 40, but we wouldn’t have to worry about it for the next 3 years. He’s going to be fine.

I didn’t know, which is why I asked. Not going to pretend to know which is worse in football. DRose never recovered in basketball. God bless him.

now that osa is off the books I wonder if we trade for Crosby. 1st and a 3rd
Crosby could probably go for a 4th-5th rounder right now. His value has declined and the Raiders have no leverage. More so after signing a ton of players in FA

I certainly have PTSD with him not being in the stupid HoF yet. One of the best players ever!

I think it was to unload his cost. Everyone liked the player, he just wasn't a great fit with the new scheme.
