BPA, reach for need, or lose on a trade down?

The giants or the commanders are rumored to go for Styles .. even though both should look for OT if they want their young QBs to survive the season.

Styles too good for either to pass up and also keeps him away from Dallas.

As for Dallas, if they can’t trade down, take Anthony Hill and Jacob Rodriguez in the first.. Due to no 2nd round pick. We need linebacker help.
Very viable second option. Nice call man.

I had been thinking about this a lot lately specifically at pick 12. There is a decent chance that the Cowboys get wiped at 12 for the defensive positions. The consensus seems to be there’s 6-7 players worth pick 12.

Arvell Reese
David Bailey
Reuben Bain
Sonny Styles
Caleb Downs
Mansoor Delane
Jermod McCoy (depending on his pro day)

After that there is a cluster of offensive players basically till almost pick 20. There is a solid chance offensive players are your best options. If this happens it’s possible they can get a good trade but not guaranteed. If that is the case what would be the teams best move?
Fill your needs in FA and BPA in draft is how it should be...but we do not operate that way.

We will do likely draft for need.

I'm torn between CJ Allen and Rodriguez after my first choice Styles of course.

According to whose grading?
You can bet they're going to have CJ Allen graded much higher than what these draft gurus just like they did with Booker last season!

Trading down should be the first resort. The Cowboys need as many picks as they can get.

They have many holes and don't draft on day 2 until very late.
The Cowboys need playmakers on defense. The further down you draft, the less likely you find a difference maker.

It is a fact, based on historical data, that it is less likely to find a pro-bowl caliber players the later in the draft you select. If there is a potential impact player at 12 the Cowboys would be morons to trade the pick away, unless it is dropping 1 spot and still getting that player.

From what everything that's happened so far and thinking about past drafts I have come around to being almost certain Allen is the pick at 12 unless someone falls. I'm debating putting money on it lol.
