Trading down more likely to happen than trading up.

What Jalen Thomson said.
"I mean, I met P.J. (Locke), excited to line up with him," Thompson begins his rolodex of Cowboys defensive backs after spending his seven NFL seasons all with the Cardinals (2019-25). "Met DaRon, excited to line up with him. Hook (Malik Hooker). They got pieces all over, and these are guys who have been doing it in the league for a while, and are vets at the game and are pro's pros. So yeah, ready to get it going with those guys, bro. Those are elite players."

Draft Guide Available
The 2026 Dallas Cowboys Draft Guide is now available online here at DallasCowboys.com, as well as in Cowboys Pro Shops and regional retail outlets such as Walmart, Albertsons and Walgreens, or just by clicking on dallascowboys.com/star.

the Cowboys have issued the franchise tag now 12 times with this current one to wide receiver George Pickens at $27.3 million for a wide receiver. Back in 2002, offensive tackle Flozell Adams became the first Cowboys player issued a franchise tag, and that was worth, $4.9 million. How times have changed.

I'm convinced Jerry us going into this draft thinking quantity over quality.

I don't agree with the strategy, but that's why I make $10 an hour at Burger King.
I like to get an extra pick, one in the 2nd round. But I understand what you are saying.

I think they can still get quality as long as they keep both 1st round picks. But improve the depth with a 2nd round pick that could be a starter, or become one. And with the 3rd round pick, but could pick up a 2nd 3rd round pick for even more depth.

Whatever pick we make fans won't be happy and will complain
Oh I am sure there will be some debates back and forth.

I think only a few players they may all or almost all will agree upon, or be very happy with.
Styles, Downs, Bain, Bailey and a few others some like.

Dane Brugler was on the Ticket yesterday and said trading down will be tough. Many teams aren't going to give up a 2 or draft capital to move up with the talent in this draft. Said they are much more likely to package to move up and 6 is a good spot but we will see. I know it sounds cool to say "move down and pick up picks" but overall it takes two to tango and people love their picks.

If a QB is there at 12. A QB needy team may make the trade.
Depends on how teams may value Ty Simpson.
Steelers, Jets, Browns. I would say Cardinals, but they do not have another 1st round pick after they pick 3rd, who may take a QB then.

Im convinced that if Jerry had a lobotomy he would be a better GM than he is currently

If there is something stupid to be done, you can count on old Jerry to do it

Then why did they bring in all of the top of the draft guys in for 30 visits?

Because that is what teams do. All teams.
Not sure what you are getting at. But what else are they going to do. Brings in a bunch of day 3 pick guys.

You bring in the top guys for if you truly go by BPA.

I'm always worried about what Jerry will do be it negative or positive as long as he is in the headlines,

Don't draft a tight end!

Don't draft anyone from Michigan!

They brought in top 10 guys and top 6 guys because they might trade up.

That means nothing. Just because you want it to happen, as you keep pushing it. Does not mean they intend to trade up.
Players do and will fall in the draft. We see it every year.

I think they also learned from the Claiborne mistake. Didn't interview him because he was out of reach, but then had an opportunity to trade up and get him.

The Jerry Regime Cowboys have not screwed up a top 15 pick like that before or since.

Last years draft was good and I think Scotty and Parker will have a lot of influence on this years.
