Can we use our draft capital for a veteran Edge or LB, both?

We are aware the Cowboys have spoke with the Dolphins about the availability of Jordyn Brooks who is on his last yr of his contract on a rebuilding team. There has been some speculation that either pick 93 or a pick 20 or 30 draft swap would be a fair deal.

Reportedly, Josh Sweat from the Cardinals requested to be traded after Gannon was fired. He was the former edge from the Eagles who played in Fangio's scheme. What happens if Arizona drafts Bailey or Reese, do they make him available?

The Vikings have been shopping Jonathan Greenard due to salary cap concerns and him wanting a new extension.

With the Cowboys two 1st rd picks, they have the ability to move back in the draft and land quality veteran starters at need positions in return. They also could entertain these deals post draft like they did with Pickens last year.

Ideally yes...it is fun talking about players at 12 and 20 but rookies are not fixing this defense.

I wonder if 12 and 20 would get you Sweat and 3?

If so I would do that in a heartbeat AND ship off 92 for Brooks.

That would work. Also, what if the Cardinals want to jump in front of the Steelers for Ty Simpson. They could give us their 2nd rd pick and Sweat.

Come away with both Brooks and Sweat along with keeping later picks is fastest way in fixing this defense!

Definitely down for trading #92 overall and a 3 or something next year for Brooks. Doubt we trade #12 or #20 for a vet DL though unless they accept monopoly money for paychecks. When it comes down to it I just don't see us spending any more significant money for players this off-season. Jerry said he's break the bank and we ended up signing a bunch of nothing for the most part again. Wagner, Okereke and Pratt are all still available right now for reasonable money and we have a DIRE need at LB and we still aren't jumping.
