Fair enough…..I just think the hate on him is too much at this point…..people want to move on, but to what? QB who can play as well as him don’t grow on trees, consistently top 5 statistically. True, he had like 2 bad playoff games, but the others were more the D playing like crap……plenty of other good QBs have had not so good playoff games….Steve young had several turnovers against us in the 92-92 nfc champ games. At this point, I’m glad we have someone who CAN play well most of the time…..just need the rest of the team and coaching to pull their weight….cuz u never know what we will get when he leaves….might be garbage for years like NY or Cleveland or some of these other teams.I'm a big believer that stats don't tell the whole story.
For example you could drive down the whole field...producing a LOT of stats. But fail to put the team in the endzone, failing to produce the most important stat.
I am not saying Dak does or does not do this. Just an example of my belief.
Yeah the year he kept falling in the draft. You mean drafting him?
Mo Claiborne. I believed he'd be the 2nd coming of Deion. What a fantasy that was!![]()

Pickens.Jalin Hyatt.
I was ready to use our 27th overall pick in 2023 on him thinking he'd be a great #2 receiver to pair with Lamb.
Giants took him 73 overall and he has been a bust.
Of course we took Mazi Smith there so Hyatt would have been the better pick.
I thought Mazi would at least be an immovable object and was glad we finally invested in the defensive line. I didn't expect much pass rush out of him because he didn't show it in college, but I thought he had the power to overcome his lateness off the line.Jalin Hyatt.

Felt that way about Chad Hutchinson. Thought he'd be our UDFA find. Who knew it would be Tony Romo?Drew Henson, I thought he could be a player.
Gotta give the old man credit for his enthusiasm. Not for his draft acumen, though.![]()
Rod convinced me. Look at that double fistie!
But underperformed his contract horrifically. To be fair he was a 4th round pick - he has certainly outperformed his draft position
I was the EXACT same way here. Mazi was such a reach, he had 4th to 5th rounder written all over him and that is exactly what he was or should have been. Shoulda taken Ocyrus Torrence in the 2nd over Luke Noshowmaker.Jalin Hyatt.

Wagner was taken with the 2nd we traded to move up for Maurice Claiborne!Didn’t we also have a chance to pick Bobby Wagner but took someone else? Possibly same year? I could be totally wrong
You're trying to use a player that went 47 in the draft to bash the cowboys. Every team passed on him at least once and many twice. The cowboys do plenty of stupid things to complain about and this isn't one of them. Trading up for Mo may have been stupid but he was fairly highly regarded coming out. However, it is unfortunate that it wasn't us that drafted Wagner.Wagner was taken with the 2nd we traded to move up for Maurice Claiborne!
Didn’t he make pro bowl with Miami?couple of Lsu LBs i was excited we got...jabril cox and damone clark.
love'd 'em in college.
but just didn't pan out like i thought they would.
texas ol connor williams.
loved that pick at the time.
he was ok...good not great...and not pro bowl caliber which was what i thought he'd play into.
