2025-26 NBA Season

I think we have a decent shot at coming out of the East. I think we would still be fodder for OKC. However we have alot of resources for the offseason, so getting there can tell you what you need to do to get farther. Im more worried about NY than Detroit right now. NY built that team to beat us after 2024, and it worked that year. I dont know if Detroit is there yet as far as playoff ball goes. They will play Cade the same they did Luka and make him try to carry that team in his back
I can’t find it in me to see Pistons making it out of the first round.

In my opinion, Castle and Harper are overrated.

Wemby can be an all-time great, but both Castle and Harper wouldn’t even be starters on the OKC team.
I mean Harper can’t even start for Spurs. I think Castle could though he’s exactly what they love. He’d be a better Cason Wallace. Castle just needs to improve his jumper. Sky is the limit if he can do that.

I never been a big Harper fan. Hated that pick for Spurs because they had Fox and Castle but I understood he was a consensus 2nd overall player pick.

Tanking is tough when two teams are doing it. What do you do just like miss shots collectively lol? They benched everyone even say Flagg after the 1st.

It’s gonna suck if we get like a 8-12 overall pick still a good player but the lottery is so hard to predict.

Mavs, Sixers and Spurs were the top 3. Far from
The worst teams and if healthy would’ve made the playoffs.

They have picks just a lot of swaps they have Lakers 2029 pick and Lebron won’t be there. Wonder what that team will look like.
Those picks are really nothing. The bad part is they will be probably be a bad team for the next at least 3-4 years with nothing to show for it.

Problem is that the Mavs were the one team that actually needed to out tank the rest. They will not have their own first round pick until after 2031. NBA will be updating the tanking rules starting next year, but plenty of tanking teams this year weren't bothered by that. Memphis and Utah tanked so bad that everyone knew they were tanking.

Mavs could've done what the Bulls did yesterday , but they just aren't very smart. That's what you get with an organization that traded Luka for peanuts

That’s kind of the thing though with guys like Flagg you only get one or two more years drafting that high. Typically you get the 1st overall pick and then it’s off to the races. There was never going to be some suck for the next 4 year plan. We saw it with Luka and Dennis Smith. Dennis didn’t become the player we hoped but it was one more lottery year and that was it.

Mavs need a top 5 pick and they will be off to the races. Especially with Lively and Kyrie coming back.

What exactly did you want them to do is what im
Asking. If Bulls and Mavs are tanking what do you want them to do? Someone has to lose. I mean look at them they had. AJ Johnson scored 20 points lol. They did what the Bulls did just Bulls did it better.

They got the 1st overall pick last season with the worst odds. I’m not sure if one extra loss helps those odds much in a draft lottery process.

Utah and Brooklyn and all these
Teams
Tank every year and nothing to show for it. The league keeps rewarding team that don’t tank. Like I said earlier last year Spurs, Mavs and Sixerd were better than Wizards, Brooklyn and Jazz…..

Mavs weren't really tanking like some of the other teams. They also won versus Cleveland and the Lakers towards the end of the season. They also played super hard every night. (This couldn't be said for most of the tanking teams)

Grizzlies recently started to out-do Utah and that last game versus Utah lost by around 40

Asking what did you expect from the Mavs is a good question. It didn't surprise me that a team that traded Luka for pretty much nothing didn't do enough this season to help Cooper future. ( Loosing first rounds picks until after 2031 should have told the FO and Jason Kidd to tank as much as possible. They had way to many vets playing throughout the year after the AD trade

We shall see. If the basketball gods reward those ethical teams then teams like the Mavs will get a 1-4 pick this year. ( I just don't think they will get lucky like last season)

If they would've won that last game vs the Grizzlies last year there would be no Cooper Flagg in Dallas

I think they do have their own synergy though and sometimes that >>> raw talent

I get what you’re saying. I guess I’ll have outrage once I see the picks. Last year I was upset and we got the 1st overall pick….ill wait to see how it plays out.

Wings got 2 1st overall picks in a row. I’m begging for the same. I’ll take top 5 though.

In that range it would have to be a 1-4. They are only able to get a 1-4 or 7/8-12 . They will have a coin flip with the Pelicans ( they are tied with them) If the Mavs win they will have a shot at the 1-4 and 7-12. Lose and its 1-4 and 8-12.

To get an idea of the top of the draft it's Wash which will get a 1-5. IND 1-6, BKN 1-7, UTA 1-8, ( If there are any ties than it switches with team/team)

Right but losing gave them what? The worst odds of anyone?
It shows just how even 1 game can impact the odds. Mavs had pretty bad odds of landing the #1, but w/o that one game it wouldn't have happened. I just hope this last game didn't throw them somewhere in the 9-11/12.

Chicago lost that game last night due to tanking for the better spot. Pretty much the Mavs get out played by all these other organizations

You know what would make this comparison even better? You have Azzi Fudd and Paige both former Uconn teammates. Well, Cooper and Boozer we also former teammates from Duke.
Maybe? Maybe?

Chicago is terribly ran too though. Their team is a mess.
