Drafted by Cowboys No. 92 pick - Michigan ED/LB Jaishawn Barham

I'm thinking you're out of your mind. We want big guys up front in those sets to stop the run and force the pass. I do expect Gary to move inside in the nickel.
Hmmm... he was 6'5 277, 7 years ago at the combine.
We at least had Faulk under consideration...he was 6'6 278!

Nice post, Ron, good looking draft, Dallas has speed to burn on the edges now. Pass rushing outside linebacker looks solid. Downs will wear the green dot he will be the captain of the defense.

Exactly and Lawrence the other first rounder is a nice addition to the Edge collection chasing the QB high motor like Barham

Good pick, if he is going to play inside, could stand to put on a few pounds though.

Yup.

We need help at CB.

He’s a good kid and showed a lot in his freshman year of college ball.

But his 40 time is slow and his combine scores are a train wreck.

He’s more Edge/DE than ILB. Lacks speed and athleticism.

His 40 time is slow? He ran a 4.64, which was 7th and ahead of Romello Height, R Mason Thomas & TJ Parker. He can play inside or out and he was a All-American as a freshman on the inside at Maryland. He fits what CP wants to do, plays outside or Inside LB in a 3-4

My good friend is a Michigan guy and loves Barham. Mean guy that is a total dawg. Might be "too aggressive" at times. I think that sounds a bit like Liufau but this guy is clearly an upgrade. My sense is he slipped because people were comparing him to the edges. He played a lot in the middle. Not a Mike but more off ball. The traits are there. He is a dawg that's for sure.

Hopeful he shines. 3rd rounder. My question would be "Can the Scout go somewhere else besides Michigan games?"

We got our Michigan guy. Can he be as good as Taco and Mazi?
From what I hear he's more of an outside linebacker plays a whole lot like Gary A younger more aggressive version of Gary He can probably play a little middle linebacker outside linebacker if you look at the way he plays very physical They call him a dog we need those kind of guys just a football player the kind of guy that mean streak not like mozzie who says that he really didn't like football he's just like hitting people and he lied

About More like Jordan Lewis even though he's corner dude had some dog in them like the tackle that kind of guy you know other guys from Michigan like Tom Brady Hutchinson both Hutchinsons You know that guy Desmond Howard I mean shall we go over to list of all the great players that's come from Michigan instead of the ones that didn't work out here?.

I've personally never heard of the guy but all the Michigan fans that watch him play they were commenting on Facebook and Twitter last night that's what they were calling him he's a very high motor just a dog he plays hard he likes to hit.. That's coming from Michigan fans and you would think while they're homers no they they watch every game very close like you would to Cowboys or I would like I know my Longhorn fans and was very upset they didn't pick Muhammad here but I'm just telling you I'm passing along the information...

Looks like they want physical players with a lot of athleticism and flexibility this guy's not really an edge he'd be an outside linebacker but when I hear he can play middle linebacker he's big enough and he's physical enough he's downhill he likes to hit.. I don't know anything about him but I'm just sharing information from Michigan fans They say that he's part of that championship pedigree that they've been winning a lot lately and he's over there roaming around and hitting people he's looking for people to hit very good in space You know unlike Jaylen Smith remember said he looked like at a sort in space didn't know which direction to go this guy is a seek and destroy guy..

I'm not saying he's a Pro Bowler but I didn't know a lot about him but I started hearing from people who watch him play and they said he's a very good player with a lot of flexibility and that is what Parker's looking for he will play outside linebacker but he also can play middle linebacker..

Very good pick. Stop with the Michigan stuff, Barham plays nothing like Taco or Mazi.

Barham is like a chess piece for Christian Parker. A guy that can rush the passer while still playing off-ball linebacker. He will need a lot of refinement since he's only played edge for one season, but his athleticism and versatility should carve him out a role fairly quickly.

Let's just say the obvious on ALL the picks at this point in the draft--With so many so-called 'analysts' out there, some will love certain picks, some will dislike the very same picks. It's the end of the third round.

I tend to favor PFF, but they're far from perfect. According to them, Barham was not a reach. (Hey, they really liked the Iggles' pick of Jalen Reagor several years ago. Uh, they were wrong.)

If he contributes in a certain role better than anyone else the 'Boys have, he's not JAG.

Wasn't it D-Law who once said "I never had to run 40 yards to sack a quarterback" when asked about his 40 time?

Yes he will play mostly linebacker and outside linebacker along with a guy like Dee Winters overshone and then you have your depth at this point until they draft another one or bring in a guy off the free agent list like Wagner or Oka Wreck they have that kid James we drafted last year that can learn,, A lot of these guys have one thing in common high motor aggressive they like to tackle and they can play multiple positions..

Like to throw around that term but they call these guys dogs They really love to play football they like to hit and tackle..

I'm just getting that from all the information I soaked in from last night and this morning and that's what I'm hearing specially this kid from Michigan it sounds like he really loves to play football he loves contact he's sees and reacts like a missile doesn't make him a Pro Bowler or a you know future Hall of Famer but D winters and this guy starts to solidify that area and yes they're gonna add more to it but it it gets them in the right spot to build the linebacker room which includes the outside linebackers but I hear he could probably play a little middle linebacker..

Has those traits and I also reacted poorly when I saw this draft because I wanted Muhammad I wanted the linebacker from LSU... Wanted the other corner Kiante scott.. So at first II didn't think this was a great pick but then after starting listening to actual Michigan fans who are telling us to stop acting like this is just another bad pick and they watched his whole career over there and said this guy's got dog in him he loves to hit he's a really good player..

I go by the NFL draft profiles. They are money.

Then look at their college career. Were they All Conf / All American?

How many years did they start?
