Don't understand the hand-wringing. He's getting a one year deal for the vet minimum and I would bet zero guaranteed. He's here to compete for a depth spot. The Cowboys can cut him anytime and move on.

Catch rate has very little to do with drops; it is based upon total targets, so the QB has a big impact on this number, including accuracy, but also trust to throw to a covered receiver. That said, he dropped more passes in KC than he did in Pittsburg.

He’s had Aaron Rodgers throwing to him for the vast majority of his career. Rodgers is one of the most accurate passers in NFL history, so that excuse doesn’t hold up.

And check out the game he had in Pittsburgh last year vs Cleveland, where Rodgers threw to him multiple times and he failed to come down with the catch.

This may have more to do with preseason evaluation of quarterbacks Sam Howell and Joe Milton than adding depth. It's better to have veteran receivers that have an understanding of the game running routes for them than some undrafted free agents that don't know where they are going.

Hell, in your effort to argue in the other thread you even unwittingly disproved your own argument.

In this case, you're acting as if someone suggested new veterans should be signed to help other veterans who are already highly successful. Nobody remotely suggested that. The idea of signing experienced veterans was in the context of rookies and very young players who may not be ready to take on a major role immediately.
