Vrabel and Russini

This is one of those stories where the media really wants you to care, but I just don’t. Maybe they were just bro hugging, or maybe they’ve been boinking for years. That’s all real housewives of the NFL stuff

Break the story where she pulls a gun on her husband for not believing her and the police go on a 3 state manhunt, then you’ll have my attention
For once: I agree with an Eagles fan.

I do not.

It's a bad, bad look but in the end these were two consenting adults, there was no power dynamic @ play, and frankly all of it is none of our business. I do think a conversation telling Mike any other whispers of impropriety and his career is over.

Reprimand? Perhaps a 6 game suspension from the NFL.

Russini is finished in Sports Journalism for sure.
Agree with the suspension but 6 games is a bit much IMO. I would probably do 3 games by the Pats, not the league.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there are rules prohibiting players from sleeping with team employees and cheerleaders.

Goffsmell already said the NFL is not going to get involved
do you guys ever bother to check things?

Suspension for an affair?

The cheerleaders have a rule that they can’t date players but the players have no such rule. IOW, if a cheerleader and a player hooked up, the cheerleader would get in trouble but the player wouldn’t.

NFL be like:

Being caught physically abusing your wife = big no no
Being caught emotionally/morally abusing your wife = Dap me up big dawg, nice catch. Hit that *** again for all we care.

Not say he needs to be suspended or fired, just funny how the NFL wants to sweep it under the rug. But, I guess the NFL would like to sweep the physical abuse under the rug too if they could.

John.....maybe suspension is too strong BUT how can the NFL/Team preach character or accountability going forward without rebuke or reprimand at a min. And NO I'm saying he's the first and only coach cheating on his wife but he crossed the line with an employee who covers the league. IMO it creates a conflict of interest........

Dude, Goofsmell already made the call. Have you not been reading about it? The NFL is as usual being hypocrites.
And its not like the Pats have any room to talk about morality, do they?

From a professional standpoint, she will (and should) pay a pretty steep price. She is a "journalist". There are expectations about the boundaries regarding relationships with those you are expected to cover in an unbiased manner.

What other team would want to give her access to their organization for fear she would share confidential things?

Not saying it's "fair" in a sense, but he doesn't really have direct ethical responsibilities to the public.

Yes, I agree. There's sex, and then there's incestuous sex. That's what this feels like.

This is my point regarding the conflict of interest........whose to say she wasn't sharing trusted info from other coaches/sources with Vrabel. Sexual intercourse will make you any damn thing.........you know that McKDaddy (lol).

If you squint just right you can see the case for him being obligated to take the opportunity to pump her for information for the sake of his team.

I'll show myself out now.

As the face of a multi-billion-dollar team whose money comes directly from public exposure and a married man with kids and a leader of players with families, I say yeah. What kind of respect do you think the wives of his assistant coaches have for him now? Especially as it appears he's been cheating for over 5 years.

In other words, no care if, let's say, IBM CEO is married and banging his secretary, a private matter that will stay private. The general public doesn't know or care enough about him. An NFL head coach is different.

Just read a nugget last night ..........the Pats are privately concerned if it could blow up and forced their hand a bit. Hell, they are now saying one of her kids is his.

Just read a nuggett the Pats would have interest in Tomlin if Vrabel is forced to resign.

I'm just saying cheating (as a head coach) doesn't violate any ethical obligations to fans. I am not saying he didn't have ethical obligations to others or that there wouldn't be repercussions in other relationships.

I doubt it forces their hand. If it does, it's more so for the way he denied & accused the media at the onset. That might create a long term strain with the media that the organization doesn't want to deal with.

Yeah, I see what you are saying but I have heard the media industry is a cut-throat business. It's why many have speculated her career is done. I guess the real question is, can he still effectively lead his team and coaches?

He is clearly an excellent HC. How many are there in the NFL? Not many

so anyone thinking the Pats are going to take any real action are naive fools

in this day and age scandals have about a weeks worth of validity and then people move on

anyone thinking the public is going to care is an even bigger naive fool

Now it is true that the heat is on Vrabel to continue the Pats winning ways
no doubt of that
unlike our FO who does not care that much

So if Vrabel is fired, it will be because he stops winning big

not because of much else; it would need to be a whole lot more than this for anything but wins and losses to really matter

Now who's living rent free in who's head? Count how many comments you got in this thread as opposed to mine. Just saying. If you're going to reprimand another poster for numerous comments and opinions what makes you any better? I like you and usually there's never any issue but Seriously think about what you say first if your going to criticize others for doing exactly what you are.

Need any more whine for that cheese?
