Wonder if it was worth it to Flagg to win the ROTY award over getting possibly someone like Boozer. Only he knows this

I’ll have to see what they traded. They owe picks from so long ago I don’t know what they got in return. Pj Washington deal I’m fine with.

They don't have them due to building around Luka who isn't with the Mavs any longer.

Yes, the Mavs got lucky last year getting Flagg, but they will be no where close to competing in the West w/o some more luck ( IE a top 1-4 pick this year).
Keep this in mind when talking about the Mavs luck getting Flagg. They also got shafted by Nico who decided to trade away a generational talent for peanuts


Not saying they need Dirk. It was an analogy that they could find a player the caliber or close to Dirk in the 9th. Yes, they could use someone of that range to help Flagg because they will not have anyone from the 1st round for the next 5-6 years, Mavs need huge help

Mavs also have no good assets for the next 5-6 years for trades as well. That's how the Mavs with Luka were able to build a contender around him. (First round assets)

I’ve heard all this before just for them to trade for Kyrie, Gafford and draft Lively and end up in the finals. You have no idea how this will go.

This doom and gloom talk I expect for the Cowboys with Jerry running it. Doom and gloom with one of the most promising rookie in the league is funny.

Top 5 will pretty much be top-tier players. 6-9 will be more of a crap shoot. Is it possible for a top 5 player to bust and a 6-9 to be a Dirk? Sure, but the 1-5 picks have the higher percentage shot of becoming a top-tier player

Mavs don't need a *good player* they need a great player. If it wasn't for the no picks until after 2031 I would agree that a good player should be enough, but that's not the case here with the current Mavs team

It's not doom and gloom. It's being real. You can't just ignore that this team was built around Luka and not Flagg. It will still be built around Luka for the next 4-6 years.
Mavs have no assets and or much to build around Flagg. Does that make sense?

Also, they should have traded AD right when Nico was fired. That didn't happen so they lost a ton of value from that.

I can’t call someone a great player before they step on the court. Marvin Bagley was a great player…until
He wasn’t. Ayton too. So yeah I’m excited about the draft and adding a good talent and great prospect. Hopefully ends up being a star.

At the end of the day I’m trying to make the playoffs. There’s no player in this draft that was gonna make us good as OkC. So crying over what could’ve been is pointless.

It’s doom and gloom. The draft hasn’t even occurred and you’re talking about the future is wasted.

We know what they should’ve done. We know the mistakes they’ve made. It’s about moving forward with what they have. The future is promising with Flagg. Wish we got a top 5 pick. We didn’t.

Could the Mavs future be bright? Of course it could. I'm not saying it will 100% go down the toilet. I'm mainly saying it would have had a better shot of being bright if the Mavs played it "right" to help Flaggs future with the Mavs . Having a top 1-4 pick is way better than a 9th pick. All it would have taken is for Kidd to have sat the starters and not have them playing hard to win meaningless games.

Who's crying? Weren't you also the one that approved of the AD trade as well? Just because you disagree with how the team/coaches do things doesn't mean it's a bad thing.
 
From what I'm seeing this could be the Mavs target if there at 9.
