Cowboys rookie minicamp

The Lawrence pick should’ve been Rodriguez. Fact.
No they're not facts the facts are Lawrence was picked that's the only fact we have in front of us you might want to try a better use of words because facts are only reality reality is Lawrence was the pick until you see both of these players play in the future a couple years down the road you can't say things like that and not get called out consider yourself called out..

Hey guess you're a Texas Tech fan..lmao

Have you written some of these guys like their careers are already pre written you think Rodriguez is better than Lawrence because you think so I'm still not buying it you've been called out..

They didn't have a second round pick this year and I don't think they wanted to reach on an off the ball linebacker So yes you can consider Lawrence a reach if you want but the position is why they pick pass rush over linebacker off the ball linebacker is not considered above pass rush..

Hope I cleared that up of why they did what they did Yes I'm sure they considered Rodriguez and CJ Allen also when they were picking there but by the time they got to the 3rd round they took Barham and I think he's gonna be a surprise and it's gonna hopefully make all this guessing moot OK Nostradamus..

What group suffered from poor play just slightly less than the secondary? That’s right - LB’ers. Rodriguez will be Bobby Wagner Part Dos for us.

We need a true Mike LBer and Rodriguez would’ve given that. Watch him look like a Pro Bowler this season and Lawrence barely see the rotation. Taco Too
That is one of the knocks on the Law and Bar picks.

They have starters in front of them.

Gary is a Pro Bowl DE and Eze is All American.

I’ve argued we should have taken a LT and the a CB instead.

Those picks are all Parker’s.

That's nice that you think that OK nostradamus you don't know what Rodriguez is going to do we don't know about any of these draft picks are going to do on their NFL journeys it's all TBD i've seen number one picks overall just be flat on their face boss I seen guys like Chase Young was topped up Now he's just an average player in the NFL I mean I'm surprised he's still around but he's having a nice solid career but not a 7th overall pick that had all that hype coming in Don't give me this nonsense with your guns up Texas Tech homer ISM that's where this is coming from...

Nobody's gonna be Bobby Wagner until they're 5 years in and you go damn that guy looks like Bobby Wagner He he is handing this dude a name that he has to live up to before you see the player snap in the NFL?

Even Sean Lee never really got to live up to his own hype You don't know what's happening in the NFL until you do so why don't you sit back and wait because I'm not buying into the hype that you think we should have took Rodriguez at that spot when nobody else took at the bottom of the first round where did he get picked in the second round?

Telling you right now I'm right Teams look at positions and then they look at other grades like RAS scores combine the consensus board their own board and they value certain positions over the other for good reason they were not taking it off the ball linebacker over A pass rusher with big scores you may not like Lawrence but you don't know how he's going to turn out he could be the next Demarcus Ware he's got that kind of talent and maybe because you didn't hear of him and you watched all the big Texas Tech games and that you were mired in the Big 12,

Maybe you just didn't see what Lawrence can do and I'll trust our coaching staff to know what would fit better on this team and who had the higher grades on their board and that's why they picked Lawrence so why don't you go sit down and figure it out 'cause now that you said this I will definitely keep receipts because I've seen guys with bigger names than Rodriguez fall on their face and not live up to any of their perceived hype from the draft..

But thanks for your long range prophecy and opinion that's all it is There is no fact at all that says he's going to be a great NFL linebacker...

One UDFA that was picked up from last year that could have a bigger role on special teams is LB Justin Barron. Every time i hear his name brought up it’s in conjunction with how much the team likes him. Could be a Luke Gifford type of guy that’s dug out a solid career.

Some habits die hard and they feel the need to triple down on Guyton, easily the biggest question on the team.

If he surprises this team is in good shape, on paper anyway.

The entire defense needed to be remade and for some reason I have much more confidence in all of that happening than Guyton not allowing the entire season to be ruined on a play when he doesn’t even get a hand on someone trying to take Daks head off.

They are not going to just lean all on him this year I don't know who else they might bring into camp or who's here but they're gonna cycle in a lot of guys that left tackle including the rookie I know we're just overlooking that 4th round pick but they say he's got the same upside at least he wasn't taken in the first round but he has all NFL tackles body and skill set you know long arms etc..

I mean if a 4th round quarterback can become a franchise starter why not a 4th round offensive tackle, What's the difference guys surprise people all the time falling in the draft and you go damn had he fall that far...

Isn't Nate Thomas still here I mean I don't know who they're going to get work in it left tackle but I guarantee they understand the weakness They will give him every chance possible but they will not put up with another up and down start to the year I think it's gonna be a quick hook it could even be in preseason I mean if he can't play well in preseason you know blocking a little bit less talented pass rushers or getting a lot of excessive penalties I believe they're gonna be planning on using someone else and it may not even be in the building..

If they don't like what they see I believe they'll go get another guy a veteran out there that they'll give two weeks to get ready for the season.. They're gonna let camp and preseason play itself out and then make those decisions at many positions...

Yep, wouldn’t be at all shocking if Thomas wins the job…..but they weren’t at all inclined to bring in an outsider to play LT.

Hey, they’ll have to get by, but the position is certainly a question mark….and it’s quite the important one.

First thing at rookie camp start getting everyone a passport.
Yeah at first I was like what the hell are you talking about Then I realized in order to go to Brazil yes I'm sure they all have to have a passport.. I'm sure most veterans have a passport Most people get one if they do any traveling and guys with money travel..

I never seen it as knock, or anyone saying this. Not saying they didn't. But I have not seen it.

However to answer about this. It is not the they have starters, or projected starters. It is about rotation.
As the Ticket pointed out on day 3 of the draft. It is not about the starting 11. It is about the top 15. How do you use them and rotate them.
Could even be top 16 to 18 at times.

Why do you get your panties in a wad when someone says something you don't like? Rhetorical question.

I call him No-Schott because I believe he has no shot at succeeding here because he's working for the same GM who has been here through Gailey, Campo, Parcells, Phillips, Garrett and McCarthy. None of those coaches were able to make it to an NFC Championship Game under this front office, so I see no reason to expect Schottenheimer, too.

It serves to remind me that when we are blaming the coaches for the lack of success, we're looking at the scapegoat and not the problem. I used to give Garrett grief, and still believe he needed more creativity in his offense, but have since realized that the real problem is the ones who've been in charge for 30 years, not the soldiers who've come and gone since then.

I know you weren't looking for an answer and just wanted to be snarky and insulting as usual, but I gave you one anyway.
So, if Sean McVay was the HC, would you call him Sean “NoWay”?

I'd feel sorry for him, that's for sure. The Rams did everything they could to buy him a Super Bowl, and it worked. I'm not trying to dismiss the value of good coaching, because it is part of the equation. I just mean that the year they won, they not only traded for Matthew Stafford but for Jalen Ramsey and Von Miller. And they did it without weakening what they had already built. ... So I guess I would say that there's No Way that McVay would have had the same kind of success here that he did in LA.

I've reached a point where I kind of feel bad for the coaches that we've had since Jimmy. All except Barry, that is. He inherited a great situation and took advantage of it for a Super Bowl title before helping it go south. I don't knock Switzer as a coach because he was smart enough to try to keep everything together and doing what they had been doing and it kept us viable for two more years. The rest (Gailey, Campo, Parcells, Phillips, Garrett, McCarthy and No-Schott) all had to try to overcome this front office. Parcells came the closest because he was able to revamp how we approached the draft, while Jerry was still very open to bringing in free agents. After he left, it took a while for the front office to develop its own draft strategy (everyone remembers the 2009 draft!) and then we switched to this overreactive philosophy concerning overspending on outside free agents.

Now, I'm not saying all the coaches we've had since Jimmy were great coaches, most of them had their own flaws. I'm just saying I don't think any coach could get us back to a Super Bowl with this front office tying one hand behind their back, and there's 30 years of evidence to support that.
