Why are you coming out of left field? What does this have to do with what you quoted? They'll just restructure Dak's cap hit like they do every year.Dak has 70M+ cap hit next year.

....which will be restructured to count less than half of that; on top of the yearly cap increase that will make the cap hit even smaller still. It's written into his contract.Dak has 70M+ cap hit next year.
I know, captain obvious. I was merely responding to someone that suggested Q wants an extension over a restructure. All I was saying is that he doesn't have a choice. We'll know more about extensions next year. He's not getting one this year.A restructure can’t pay him any less money. It can only pay some of what will be paid out sooner. Obviously he’d like the team to restructure his current deal. I haven’t heard anything about Q seeking a contract extension. Perhaps he’s waiting to see if he wants to sign to stay with Dallas long term. The Cowboys are not a team players desire to play for. They’ll forego free agency for enough money (Dak Prescott), but will seek to play with better franchises particularly if they want a chance to win a Super Bowl (DeMarcus Lawrence).
No reason to do it. You don't withdraw 10k out of your bank for nothing, right? You do it because you need it. Dallas hasn't had a reason to restructure his contract. Are we adding any more players that might need paying? If not, don't expect him to be restructured. Not arguing with you as what you posted makes sense. However, it has been reported that Jerry wants to restructure. If that’s the case, and if it’s built into the contract, why hasn’t he done it?
Hahahaha. God forbid.Sam Williams? Just kidding
This isn’t a Dak thread, so quit trying to change the topic. That was all Daks fault. Just ask the haters.
AND mid season so don't even get actual value from him. just really disturbing all around honestly. This is an underrated point. I'm a massive fan of Q and glad to have him on the team, but there is a real chance that come February and the draft order is set that the Cowboys will have given up more value for him than they acquired for Parsons.
I think many of you put too much into perceived value. If Q succeeds AND we keep him long term then it’s a win no matter what. No matter where you draft, you are 99% sure not to get someone as good as him. This year and next will tell us if he was worth it or not.AND mid season so don't even get actual value from him. just really disturbing all around honestly.
He's not as good as he used to be.Possibly the best trade Jerry ever pulled off.
Well worth the cost. A top player at a key position where there aren’t a lot of true difference makers.
I’m beyond thrilled to have him.
You got 2025 Williams because you had the 2025 Dallas D. After lasts years crap show, you don’t know if Williams will perform better with a possibly better D and DC around him. And he isn’t an end. It’s not his primary job to get sacks even though he’s capable. He's not as good as he used to be.
We paid a price to get 2022 or 2023 Williams...but we got 2025 Williams. 2026 Williams will be even 1 year older than last year's 2 5 sack guy
perceived value? i don't know how that ties into what i said. he's a great player, and would have been worth more if we had him for the duration of the season.I think many of you put too much into perceived value. You’re putting stock in a player that wasn’t even available when you wanted him. Maybe not you, but how many times on this site have we heard that Jerry was stupid for not doing what it takes to get a player? Especially at a important position that was ignored for far too long. He does and he’s still criticized for it. How much less do you think we could have gotten him for? 1 and a 3 or 4? He wasn’t going to be had for less than a first. If they wanted him that bad and they over paid a little, so be it, that or possibly don’t get him. But the value is still perception since everyone looks at value differently.perceived value? i don't know how that ties into what i said. he's a great player, and would have been worth more if we had him for the duration of the season.
Maybe, but I don’t care about conventional stats for DTs in any type of way. He's not as good as he used to be.

again i'm only talking about the timing. we wasted half a season, and there's no isolating the moves. trading micah when he did, and then only making a secondary move to offset it half way through the season was bad business. we're seeing him/them act with a bit of urgency now, so they are capable and aware, and would have liked to see it sooner. also, this entire thread is the opposite of criticism, it's fawning. with a few lone exceptions myself included. You’re putting stock in a player that wasn’t even available when you wanted him. Stating my opinion is fawning? I’ve criticized him plenty. He screwed up, no question, but he did the best he could to fix it. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t. That’s not fawning, those are all facts.again i'm only talking about the timing. we wasted half a season, and there's no isolating the moves. trading micah when he did, and then only making a secondary move to offset it half way through the season was bad business. we're seeing him/them act with a bit of urgency now, so they are capable and aware, and would have liked to see it sooner. also, this entire thread is the opposite of criticism, it's fawning. with a few lone exceptions myself included.
no. not you, and i was confused on which thread i was in, was tying it in with the herschel haul thread. majority of the fanbase is crowing over the deal(s). my only point in all of this is that as much as i like q, i wish we would have had him for the entirety of the season since it wound up a disastrous season. glad he's here, look forward to what he does for us the rest of the way, i just hated the handling of both of the trades.Stating my opinion is fawning? When you pay the price we did for a DT, you expect him to be That Guy that ytansforms ur DLine....makes everyone else betterYou got 2025 Williams because you had the 2025 Dallas D. Basically paid 2 seconds?Maybe, but I don’t care about conventional stats for DTs in any type of way.
I can’t very well be someone here that moaned about poor quality DT play for years then not applaud when they acquire Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams….especially when the first for Q was a year and a half away. They basically paid two seconds for one of the top DTs in the game. I can’t complain on that one. Maybe it won’t work out but I’m in favor of the approach.
I would normally agree with you but not in this case. There is no way any DT, not even Aaron Donald, that what elevate anything in this historically bad defense. Everything went wrong for it to be that bad. When you pay the price we did for a DT, you expect him to be That Guy that ytansforms ur DLine....makes everyone else better
You just described a guy that is a 2 5 sack guy unless he's surrounded by really good talent. LOTS of guys can be really impactful DTs if you surround them with talent...and they are far cheaper than QW.
