Like maybe we’ll end up with a random new back . Like a guy named Ned
Many analysts felt with closer to an average defense last year we would have been a playoff team with our offense.

That disappears in the second half of big games...Im with Stash. We already had a top #3 offense.
And there are enough Jones's where we are going to live it till they put us in the box.If feels like I've lived this 30 times before.
About what I expect, the offense is really good if everyone stays healthy. Pickens is a beast.I expect them to be better than last year. They have a chance to win 10-12 games and to make the playoffs.
You are correct sir and we are probably good enough to make the playoffs but we are not coached well enough to win a Super bowl.About what I expect, the offense is really good if everyone stays healthy. Pickens is a beast.
I think the D is gonna be pretty good.
A few? They have replaced more than half the defense.I think they will be improved
Like 10 and 7
And making the playoffs.
Some talking about superbowl appearances
Are just drinking the koolaid.
our defense was historically bad last year.
We added a few nice players there, but we still need more talent.
Who is good enough to win the Super Bowl? Not good enough to win a Super bowl
Didn't the way they run it change this season? Didn't they let the head coach chose his defensive coordinator and didn't Parker chose the young coaches that he wanted? Didn't the head coach tell Jerry in the draft room that they were going to take Lawrence over Allen the linebacker? Didn't the head coach tell them that Barham was a must get?Like every off-season question about the season, there are two ways I usually answer:
None of us know what’s going to happen obviously. Hoping for option one. The second option is history. I guess there’s a third option of better or worse.
- The realistic HOPE version - we win 10-12 games and win the division and perhaps a playoff game.
- The version based on the history of this team the way JJ and SJ run it - 7-9 wins, trying qualify for the playoffs before hitting a brick wall.
A lot of good stuff you can watch on YouTube. Most fans don’t have the ability to evaluate talent until they see it.
Most of the players we picked up in FA I’m not that familiar with nor recall watching as well with most of draft picks.
We have got a boatload of good new coaches. You are correct sir and we are probably good enough to make the playoffs but we are not coached well enough to win a Super bowl.
Jerry will never put the value on coaching necessary to win a championship
I think it depends on the New DC. Before Quinn all I read was not a single defensive player on the team would even start on any other NFL team and he turned it around dramatically. Are they going to be as good as the 12 win teams with McCarthy?
Or the Garrett teams in 2014,16 and 18?
Or is this more of a rebuilding and development year on defense and we should hold down our expectations to just contending for playoffs? Like with Parcells.
Or are we expecting even more with added talent on defense unseen in action?
We've had AP players at those positions in the past with a top rated offense and still couldn't do it. Someone's going to get an eye poked out with all the finger pointing. As long as the FO is making the football decisions nothing will change.I think the defense will be improved if for no other reason than the coaches they have will use a scheme that fits the players they have on the roster rather than trying to force players to fit a system, especially a bend-and-break system like Eberflus used.
The offense should be solid and while it may not put up numbers like last year because of the improvement on defense, it should be the strength of the team.
I don't know if this team is capable of reaching the Super Bowl this year because of all the changes and questions that need to be answered, especially at OT and CB, but I feel better about this team and its coaching staff than I did last year at this time.
The commitment they made on defense with the new coaching staff, new defensive scheme and an offseason focus on adding players to help improve the defense provides a glimmer of optimism.
If the defense is better than the offensive numbers will very likely be down. Less shootouts, less garbage time.Yea, it’s entirely possible the offense won’t be as good as last year. It’s difficult to repeat at that level every year not to mention keeping all the key talent healthy.
I literally have zero championship expectations. I don't even expect to win 2 playoff games. The culture with our dysfunctional ownership is always a concern.
And I’d caution others to set more reasonable goals in winning division or simply a playoff contender before setting sights on championship appearances without prior history.
Even in the regular season when we played real contenders, niners Bills, we got our butts handed to us. So you are right. They need to be Significantly better than those three 12 win seasons.
Easy schedules (per existing nfl criteria), made them a paper tiger that predictably folded in the playoffs.
Bless your heart.I am optimistic this team will win 12 games and win the NFC East, the offense will average 31 points per game. The defense will improve as the season progresses to 12th in total defense and Dallas will be one of the top teams in the league. The Dallas Cowboys are a team on the rise with better talent and a much improved coaching staff on defense and a top 5 offense. Let the good times roll, Go Cowboys.
If we beat the Giants the SB talk will start.Right there with you. Just call me Missouri. I'll believe it when I see it. The super positive people are free to do their thing just like the opposite people. When they each fear that the other side will be right or "just can't be allowed" to have their own party without a counter-view, they'll lash out at each other. And that is when the entertainment starts around here, my friend. Just point and chuckle until the next game day. Lol.
