Woodson vs Witten, who gets the HOF nod first?

Witten's TE position will impact his entrance IMO.
Witten has a problem.
2019 Gonzalez- 1st Ballot
2025 Gates- 2nd Ballot
2027 Gronk - 1st Ballot
20 Soon Kelce - 1st Ballot

Too many TEs bunched up in a short period.
They give it to Gronk instead of Witten for 2027.

Do they then make Witten the 4th in 10 years? Doubt it.
And then they'll be looking down the pike at Kelce who *has* to get it 1st ballot.

I think Witten gets in after Kelce, and it will probably be with a gap of years after Kelce. Mid 2030s.

Shannon Sharpe waited 4 years to get in. Dave Casper, 10 years.

The bump of Witten might help Woodson get in this year, though.

JWit.

Woody getting passed over all these years is wrong.
With Gronk now being eligible, I think Woody is more likely than Witt this year, but Witt is more likely than Woodson long term.

Witt will *eventually* get in.
Don't know about Woody. I think it's now or never for Woody.

Excellent point(s).........but I think there's a chance he gets in 2028 or 2029.

Interesting question.........but Woody should have been in years ago. So it's anyone's guess when they will finally put him in. Witten's TE position will impact his entrance IMO. No clue gets in first though............

Sadly they barely holding something against DW, so definitely Witten

Witten isn't even top 5.
No championships and only 2 All Pro years.

hopefully the HOF voters are smarter than some that think Rings are everything
But then players from the Buffalo Bills and Minnessota Vikings and many other teams that never got rings are in the HOF so I have hope they understand that Witten had the bad luck to be with a mediocre franchise during his career.

Witten's advantage is that he was considered one of the top TEs for a lot of seasons. Woody never got that kind of recognition
right or wrong that is what happened

I have great love and admiration for Woody. But I'm afraid that ship has sailed. I have great love and admiration for JW. However, because a large amount of his success came from a slightly illegal move. I'm not sure if he really belongs there.
There's some controversy for you.
So Irvin shouldn’t be a hall of famer either?

IMO, they both belong in there, but if it's one or the other, then I think Woodson should get in. He was in the league long before Witten was, and he was a huge factor in this 90s-era Super Bowls. My preference would be for them both to get in, but if that's not possible, I want Woodson in first and then Witten the following year.

It would be anti-Cowboys bias, not lack of SBs that keeps Cowboys players out far longer than they should be. Often have to wait for a generation of biased voters to age out so that old Cowboys legends get their due, sometimes posthumously.

Its like when CBs could mug the WRs all the time
many of them are in the HOF
this guy seems to think they should not be
Casual fans simply don't realize that the majority of NFL players push the limits of the rules, breaking them a ton and often. What's legal is whatever the refs don't catch.

There is no doubt of anti cowboy bias in the eastern press; especially the North East.

Frankly I have never thought sportswriters should be doing this
Entry into the HOF should be done by votes of players in the HOF. Coaches in the HOF; etc
No one is as qualified to judge the best there is

Look how long Chuck Howley had to wait; until he was so far gone he barely knew where he was
Bullet Bob who changed the game and forced the creation of the Zone D did not get in until after he died
