I’m not arguing who the better player is. I’m saying they went all in as in they don’t have a 1st next year nor a second this year. If they could trade their first next year then you may have a solid foundation but it’s a deep draft and you can’t trade your 1st. Now if you want to argue that they shouldn’t have traded for Quinnen then that’s fair. But they don’t have the capital to trade for Myles.Williams is a very good player, he isn’t Myles Garrett. Myles Garrett type move is all in. Getting the very best defensive end in the league when you are already knocking on the door is an all in move.
Williams gets them closer but he’s not an all in move.
Yeah they must hate winning SBs and sitting out drafts while the Cowboys cant get out of the first round....Rams back to sitting out drafts again.
I particularly loved the Caleb Downs draft video where Stephen yells to the room to be quiet, calls in to the league to make the trade and keeps referring to Miami as "them" and has to be told by others to tell them it is Miami that we are trading with. Then hangs up the phone and panics that the clock is running out and they need to get the pick in immediately only to be informed by others that it would be the Cowboys that were next on the clock. They had another 8 minutes.
He is a colossal moron. A silver spoon child. Never had to work for anything in his life.
Fair enough. I just meant that they actually went all-in the year they got Stafford and it worked for them. So they are not averse to trading away picks or doing whatever it takes to get there. Not every team is willing to do that. Some even claim that it's not a good way to operate."Bought a title?" This is Pro Football. Every title is bought. Lol
We do not have a Verse on this team to entice them. Only Parsons was at that level and maybe one day Downs will be.Jerry is not serious about winning a superbowl. We should have made this trade.
We don’t want to see that.I will be excited to compare the Garrett and Micah compensation.
A 1, 2 and 3 plus a young pro bowl edge for a 30 year old HOFer.
Not a bad deal for a rebuilding team like the Browns.
I think if you make it to the divisional round, then a move like this makes sense. If you are not there, then you need more than one move to put you over the top. I think you could look at any of the playoff teams from last year and say this move would have made sense for them if they don't already have two game-changing ends.To be fair this is a trade that ONLY works for a team like the Rams, one that is already close to a title.
Garrett was not going to get the Browns to be a contender by himself; they need a lot more pieces in Cleveland which is why they sent him away for picks.
The question we have to ask ourselves is, are the Cowboys a Myles Garrett away from a Super Bowl? They've had plenty of elite edge rushers in the past (Parsons, prime D-Law, D-Ware for instance) and never got past the divisional round.
I'm being one of those posters who has an agenda to prove, lol.We don’t want to see that.
I think the repeated foot issues tank his value. You may be right. He’s an all pro at 25 or 26 so I said maybe with him. Plus he has a favorable contract.
Jerry is about selling all world tickets not winning gamesThis is a team that is actually serious about winning.
One game away from a SB, they trade for an all world Edge
We missed the playoffs and traded away our all world edge
You're right but the Cowboys had Micah getting 12, 13-plus sacks per year and never got past that point. D-Law had 14.5 sacks in 2017 and they went 9-7. DeMarcus Ware had 20 sacks in 2008 and Dallas went 9-7.I think if you make it to the divisional round, then a move like this makes sense. If you are not there, then you need more than one move to put you over the top. I think you could look at any of the playoff teams from last year and say this move would have made sense for them if they don't already have two game-changing ends.
This is delusional, verse is much more valuable than overshown at this point in their careers. Overshown might be worth a 4th if we’re lucky.Yes, as much as I like Overshown, Garrett would certainly be an upgrade.
