News: ESPN: Sources: Browns, Rams finalizing Myles Garrett blockbuster trade

25 sacks in 17 games equals 1.5 per game.
What are we talking about? Congratulations to the Rams but let's be real. All that production, Cleveland has done exactly what???

Cleveland on both sides of the ball 22 starters and only 1 great player and 21 JAG, will get you beat more than you are winning.

Good move for all 3 sides. Garrett gets a chance to win a ring, cleveland get rebuilding capital, Rams gets a DAWG.

First of all who is we You don't have a football team but if you want one you can put them on your fantasy football team buy his jersey and go root for the Rams now you don't understand no they could not have been all over it they didn't have a verse He's a young player that some know is worth at least a first round pick but he is basically Micah Parsons they basically gave Parsons plus another first round pick a second and a 3rd round pick and then two years after that like a 5th and a 6th round pick are you serious the Cowboys had none of that to offer They can't even offer their first round picks next year some of y'all really need to get on board with the reality it's stay in the facts the Cowboys did not have the resources to do this and it's a severe overpayment by the Rams in my opinion..

It might put them over the top but are we gonna keep going over this how many of these great pass rushers on all these other teams crosby with the Raiders Garrett with the Browns TJ Watt never winning a damn playoff game with the Steelers joey Boso with the same problem doesn't win games and big games Lots of these great names making all this money getting all these sacks don't have rings they not put average to bad teams over the top..

Yes just maybe it helps the Rams win now but they mortgage their entire future and that's great they do call that all in and the Rams do do that they almost have no draft picks the next three years

Apparently that works for them but no the Cowboys absolutely could not have been all over that they could not have even started to have anything to offer for him but three 1st round picks is basically what was given for him That's in total what that package is worth regardless of how you want to try to squeeze it together and no I would not have been in that mix for Garrett because the Cowboys are not a single player away They're not in the same position to mortgage their entire future for right now for this year..

And also we call this a single point of failure top heavy just like the Packers went after Parsons he got hurt they didn't win anything at all they didn't go in any far in the playoffs at all weren't they one and done that's right that's all it takes.

Prefer the Cowboys to build their team and their defense like Seattle and New England you know those were the ones that actually were in the Super Bowl last year seattle won the Super Bowl last year they did it without a single pass rusher with double digit sacks you don't need that guy nowadays if you have enough of the other pieces I don't know if the Cowboys have those yet they're rebuilding the defense right now they're in a rebuilding phase you don't go after a Myles Garrett for basically 3 1st round picks that is really a dumb idea But that coming from a fan I get it you think that this is madden and fantasy football..

Goes for anybody in here that believes that the Cowboys should have done that it is absolutely insane how you can't separate fact from fiction They never would have been in this nor should they have..

Kudos to the Rams they overpaid for a guy because they believe they are in the window to win this year right now that's what they want they don't care about their future picks They wanna win now the Cowboys were not in the same situation I know it feels like that to you but it's not they're rebuilding the defense and couldn't afford to be top heavy that is why they got rid of Parsons now do they need to go after another pass rusher maybe another linebacker maybe they're going to be out there in free agency they're going to be cut this week they're going to be cut after the last preseason game and yes they should add more to this roster..
Is there a timeline for this Dallas Cowboys rebuild?

Even if they win the SB, I think the Rams overpaid. He is 30, he might have 2 GOOD years left. 3 at the very most as these guys tend to fall off the cliff fast after 30. They gave up a guy who is already pretty good and getting better, who is much much younger and much cheaper plus they gave up a 1, 2 and a 3. Not to mention the massive contract they took on. That's nuts IMO.
If you look at the way his contract was restructured, they only intend to keep him for 2 more years, possibly 3. He'll be gone before the big cap hits. He's insignificant against the cap.

As far as what they gave up, a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in three separate drafts is not that much. Had it been all next year, that would be rough. The player they gave up makes it an overpay. But not by that much. Player for player, they improved their team. Clearly the Rams don't care much for their picks. As long as their team improves.

I was originally going to predict MG with 12.5 sacks in the first 6 weeks but the Rams have a pretty tough stretch to start the season. So, I'm going to lower it to 10.5.

Bingo. People talked about Demarcus Ware and look what he gave us. Wow. Defensive player of the year, All-Pros. Who cares, where's the RINGS!!!!!
Jerry was right to cut him.
I mean, it's clear that since he couldn't will the team himself deeper in the playoffs he's not really all that.
I don't expect much out of him in Denver. May ride the bench with that Von Miller and Barrett duo they got there, but doubtful he's impactful in any playoff run.

Agreed, you’d figure the goal would be to pair them. Yeah sure Garrett is an upgrade but not at that cost.

But one fact remains…if they weren’t the SB favorites before, they certainly are now. They don’t seem to be into trying to create a dynasty, but happy to go extremely all in with one group, win one, then put it back together and go again. That makes full sense to me given the rules. Jerry and son continue to attempt to try to defeat the tide and recreate the 90s in the cap era.
I'm making a prediction. The Cowboys are done upgrading this team for this season. I know people like Fish like to point out what they can do to improve the team, and he's right. But they won't do it. They're happy getting the team back to relevant. They're not serious about winning a championship. They're not going to outright compete. They are ok with just being good. They can prove me wrong, but I highly doubt that will happen. Jerry and son are done this season.

Rams understand that building for a long term contender is incredibly hard
and usually only results like the Ravens and Squealers in just HANGING AROUND THE RIM

THEY chose to go for it all
THAT is a CHAMPIONSHIP attitude

you cannot win it all unless you gamble big in Todays NFL

Agreed. It looks like a two year gamble while they have this 2 year window with Stafford. I saw today that the 2029 3rd is conditional, it would become a 1st if the Rams trade Garrett to another AFC North team. This sounds even more like they are going for it these next two years and then will likely trade him after the 2028 season and try to recoup a pick or two. If he stays healthy he'd be 31 and another team thinking they are one player away could trade for him.

This is how a real GM is supposed to do his JOB! Now take a step back and think about how insanely lousy our GM has been over a 30-year period, 30 YEARS, think about that!
I guess there are 31 insanely lousy GMs in the NFL then.
