2025-26 NBA Season

No team down 0-2 at home in the NBA finals has ever come back to win.

Wow that’s quite a stat considering how long the NBA has been in business . Spurs lost by 1 I wouldn’t give up the ship yet . Obviously game 3 has to be a street fight all hands on deck .

Personally I never understood the Mavericks letting an obvious talent like Brunson walk . Then to top it off they ship Luka out .

The Mavs had the worst front office in professional sports……rivalring Jerry’s own clown show.

Thats how you let Brunson walk and give away Luka.
It’s kind of contradictory though because they took a shot on Brunson when no one else would in the 1st round. They took a shot on Luka and I think what 4 other teams passed him up?

I feel Brunson and his dad played them. Think he was always going to New York.

Luka….id rather have Brunson but Luka seemed far more blindsided by his move. Probably would’ve retired a Mav.

Can't wait for Monday... Spurs are gonna throw everything they have at NY

The crowd is gonna make it tough

I don't know how this finals is going to be remembered, but game 3 is gonna be one for the ages
Basketball is big in NYC too. Very deeply rooted into the culture. Pick up legends, high school legends. Those things are larger than life in NYC

Been a hell of a season for my Spurs no matter what happens .......
The Spurs losing the series is probably more predictable than it looked before. Even amoungst non Spurs teams. Knicks are a vet team, and its tough for a young team to beat a vet team at stage of the season. Knicks are white hot too

As a non Spurs, this run has convinced me that the Spurs will win multiple chips. Taking your lumps is part of that process and this could be more of a catapult than a set back

San Antonio star Victor Wembanyama had a crucial late turnover and missed a potential game-winner with two seconds remaining to leave the Spurs in need of an unprecedented comeback when the best-of-seven series shifts to New York for games three and four.

No team has lifted the trophy after dropping the first two games of the Finals at home.

Michael Jordan's 1993 Chicago Bulls and the 1995 Houston Rockets are the only other teams to win the first two games of the championship series on the road, and both went on to win titles.

The Knicks won their 13th straight game of the playoffs – the second-longest streak in postseason history – and will have a chance to close out their first title since 1973 in front of home fans at Madison Square Garden.

Bingo. I remember MacMahon saying Cuban was the most hands-on owner in all of sports... And that yes, that included Jerry Jones.

It amazes me that he's so revered by Mavs fans. Let Nash walk before his MVPs, blew up the championship team, let Brunson go... He pretty much did one good thing, which was keep Dirk happy all those years. But Dirk's personality is such that I think he was naturally the type to be loyal and not chase every dollar anyway.

Before the series started I wondered who would win the battle the team that was rested or the one battle tested.

It’s looking like rest wins thus far.

I did not see 0-2. Spurs youth seems to be catching up at times.

It’s all a learning experience. When you get to the Finals you may never yet back. But I feel this Spurs team won’t have to worry about that. They’ll be back and soon.

Knicks also look good and you know when the playoffs start role players are big at home. Seeing Knicks being able to go to Alvarado, Shamet, McBride and Mitchell is pretty good.

Knicks are the Cowboys. Or was. So it’s hard to believe they are this good and don’t choke but seems as if this Knicks team is built different. Good stuff Knicks.

I was telling my friend... if the Knicks don't pull this off, I don't know when another non Spurs team is gonna win the finals.

I predicted Knicks in 5. I will stick to that but if they win game 2 it will be a sweep. The Knicks are a bunch of veteran dawgs. How in the world was SA the favorite? The only chance they have is game 2 and they better win it. Monday in MSG will be bonkers so the Spurs have no chance there. Ditto for game 4.
Spurs were the favorite because they beat the Champs who were missing their second best player and Ajay plus everyone wants to anoint Wemby.

The Rucker league games are big in the city . I was in New Yawk ( native ) 70 & 73 when they last won championships . Walt Frazier , Willis Reed, Dave Debusshere Bill Bradley who later became NJ Senator , Earl Monroe . Hard to believe they never won again.

Mavericks one championship can turn into this size drought .

Spurs having to slug it out with OKC might have taken all the ammo out of the arsenal while the Knicks blew up Cleveland then rested

Listen, I'm not saying the series is over... Spurs can still win 4 in a row or 4 of the next 5

But right now, there's not a team in basketball playing as good as NY

Has nothing to do with a slug fight... 13 in a row puts them in the conversation for greatest playoff runs ever.

And they absolutely would have smoked the Trailblazers, Suns, Wolves and Lakers the way they're playing right now... OKC is a tough match up, just like I think we're a tough match up for SAS, but I think they coast against all those teams just as easily

The Brunson thing... Cuban just made a huge misclaculation

I think what he wanted, was to wait until the offseason, sign a big star to go with Luka and Brunson, then resign Brunson to a max or near max deal with his bird rights

But locking Brunson up, even if it meant less flexibility in the offseason

Especially since I don't think they made a move

They said OKC was a dynasty in the making as well today they watch from the TV .
That's true... I kinda feel like people thought OKC was gonna rip off a few in a row and the general thought was until the Spurs get enough experience

Like people saw the Spurs on the rise and knew they'd challenge OKC, I just don't think people saw it coming this year

I don't see another up and coming team that's gonna push SAS

OKC will continue to be a problem out west, and we'll obviously see what happens with the NYK, but the Knicks core is all more or less 28-31, unlike the Spurs who are all 22-24

I didn't think the Knicks even had a chance against either the Spurs or Thunder. Based on the regular season, the Knicks are playing way ahead of their usual. I can't believe it. But now, I don't see the Spurs winning at MSG. Knicks actually look like the better team. And now they're home.
Knicks are still undefeated in the playoffs. They are/were no joke.

Injuries and free agency will derail great teams….
OKC with KD, Harden, and Westbrrok
Boston with Tatums Achilles
Look what happened to Indiana a year after a game 7 finals trip
OKC this year
Spurs could be like the KD Thunder, lose in the finals and then fizzle apart or could be next thing.
Never know. Supermax Contracts will be coming due soon too.
