Per Clarence Hill, Span-Ford competing with Ferguson to be the starter?

TE is going to be difficult….sort of like Trigg-o-nometry.

Uh ohhhh!! Rico2 gonna ball.

Everything is going to go right. All of it.

I agree. But those at the top here don’t adhere to this. Please send this memo to the attention of Jerry and Stephen Jones.

In the past, any player with a size-able contract will start. Period. Jerry hates paying for people who aren’t on the field.

Same with head coaches. He would seemingly rather lose with a HC with a year left on his deal than fire them and eat the last year.
It’s not as easy as just stating EVERY position is up for grabs. You have to look at the big picture. If everyone on the team is competing for a starting job it will lead to more injuries as players feel they have to go all out. There’s a fine balance you have to consider.

I don’t think you’re being realistic here. In this salary cap era I don’t think you can cut solid players. The offense line is wasn’t flawless but they were beating teams up. They were setting the tone in a lot of games and they are young.

I’m realistic about the success or lack of . You’re 7-9-1 not coming out of perpetual playoff runs . You have to see as a FO how do you upgrade the roster or else you’re stuck in a cycle of mediocrity .

I don’t think anyone is “handed” a job though. If Ferg sucks they will replace him. It’s a Not For Long league. You’re only as good as your last snap. Ferg is a good football player. I’m not entirely sure where the disdain is coming from.
Asking for competition is not “ disdain “ you’re too emotional . Tap the brakes .

And when you go a number of years with the same players holding down starting jobs people , fans shouldn’t be surprised or complain when non playoff success is the result .

Cowboys were 7th in offense. If you read enough posts about Guyton sucks, Steele sucks, Beebe is just average and so on you would never know.

Ask Williams about his 1200 yards and 4.8 yards per carry and 11 tds.

It's VERY clear the Cowboys roster today is significantly better than it was at the end of last season.

Yeah with the success the offense had makes you wonder how people think we did it lol.

As I have said many times, I think every position should be open to competition regardless of contract or years in the league.
Yup, screw this crap about draft or contract status. We saw how easy it was for Belichek to bench Bledsoe and move on to Brady, even though Bledsoe just signed a big contract.

If I remember correctly, Brady got his chance because of a nasty injury that Bledsoe suffered. Not by competition.
