I think we found a good HC and like the direction of the team

Agreed and in defense of those with the same view there were a lot of more seasoned, more sought after and better (on paper) options at the time - plus the process was limited and short.


I can absolutely understand the pov of being upset about the hiring. I just hope that they continue to give him a chance as he evolves the team, and obviously hope the team has success under his leadership

Initially, but what happened when Romo came back during the season fully healthy? He was benched.

If say spann ford looks good in TC and PS games then he will get more playing time in reg season.
They just gave ferg a new contract so it would be hard to bench him.
I say just give Spann more playing time, then is he is clearly way better then maybe he takes over.

I agree, but my point is salary should not even be a consideration.
Performance should be 100% of the criteria...

But that move was an outlier.
I cant think of any other times that an expensive Vet lost their job to a better younger player due to performance the last 30 years.

Its unfortunate that Jerry doesn't have the proper instincts of the best GMs in the game. Competition makes the whole team better.

I honestly wish we would have brought in better backup quarterbacks throughout the years to not only give us a solid chance to win if/when Dak goes down, but a better backup to light a fire up under Dak's *** knowing there's a chance he could lose his job the same way he got it if he didn't clean up certain bad habits.

I don't believe we've ever had a backup that could push Dak for the starting job. Its not like im just trying to immediately replace Dak because Dak is a very good quarterback and very good quarterbacks don't just grow on trees.... but I think its healthy for all players to feel a lil uncomfortable knowing that their replacement is potentially on the sidelines.

Not off the top of my head, but many players have lost their jobs in the tub.

I loved Romo. Jerry robbed him of some championships as well. But he couldn’t walk on the field without getting hurt at that time of his career. Lay off the drugs and maybe you’d remember some of these facts.

I just shut up when it comes to Shotty. I certainly get the crowd that thinks he’s the same type of hire…..but I have no complaints about him. I know his dad never won the big game but his dad could coach. I’ve never heard one person say he couldn’t. I do appreciate him being human.

I had great respect for his old man as a coach. I met him when he became coach of the Commodes (Commanders).

When I was still working in TV news, our crew went to the training facility in Northern VA for a sit-down interview.

He was easygoing, a genuine stand-up dude, with a great sense of humor.
