Now, I was cautiously optimistic Philon was going to be there at 15….. but am far less certain after the Milwaukee trade.

I really need Ament and Mara to get picked before 15. If we can sneak in Yaxel, too; that’d be great. Have them all gone in the top 14.

From what I've been reading they view him as a project. He's either going to be a hit or a miss and they rather the Mavs FO not gamble with Coops future.

Edit: They view the other selections from the top 9 as more of safe compared to Ament

I get that. Projects don’t scare me. People are trying to rush the process. There’s no rush for me.

Who are you hoping falls?

I want Philon. I’m also good with Carr. Anderson/Stirtz are a tier below but offer better shooting. Shooting is needed with Wilson at 4 and the trade for Claxton.

Could also look at a big like Johnson if he’s available or Steinbach. Claxton isn’t a long term piece. The benefit to being bad is you can improve the roster a number of ways.

I’m more on the guard bandwagon, however.

On record thoughts so everyone can mock me years down the road for how wrong I was.

DP is the best player in the draft if he stays heathy. Wizards will regret taking AJ #1.

Boozer will have a great productive career.

AJ will never develop a reliable outside shot nor play high level defense. Basically, be a shorter Giannis without the defense. There’s value - but it will be disappointing.

Ament never fully realizes his potential. He’ll be a solid 3/D wing.

The guard class will be legendary for its depth.

Mara will be nothing more than a backup. A is going to slip in the draft.

In the end, I’m selling on Yaxel. But I also could see him easily proving me wrong. But I’m going on record he fizzles.

Morez Johnson will have the best NBA career of the Michigan players.

I’m team Flemings and Philon. I think Acuff has potential to be the best of the “not named Peterson” guard bunch - and I’m going to assume he figures out the defensive end.

Zuby will have a long productive career as a rotational piece.

I also like Reed and Brazile for projected second rounders to carve out solid NBA careers.
