Eagles are hesitant to pay Carter, per Breer

he can play
no doubt of that

but I always have the feeling he is like sweating dynamite; the explosion WILL come
and it will be bad

Hes a poor mans Leon Lett. Which is still very good but he could be special. Hes missing something upstairs. Maybe its the want to. I can see them trading him.

Honestly this is what good organizations do, they figure if there is too much baggage to go along with the talent and if so, trade them get what you can get.

Then you have the Cowboys trying to sign Randy Gregory for a big contract.

Well to be fair they added stipulations that they knew he wouldn’t agree to.

What about Jordan Davis did he get extended ? See the Eagles think so much of the middle of the D line they invested in back to back drafts in these two . To me Carter is much more dangerous ,

Yes, they did extend Davis. Interestingly, there were questions one time whether they would even exercise his 5th year option.

As for Carter, who knows, but this is worth keeping an eye on.

Well the 49ers traded for OSA if they got Carter that middle would be stacked . However 2 first round picks and a third is absurd . The Eagles would be rebuilding while still contending .

Much rather have Carter than Jordan Davis but Philly might be thinking the complete opposite .

Davis is a three down player where Carter is a two down player. That's probably why they up the money for Davis.

Where did you get that nonsense that Carter is a two down player? He averaged 90% of the snaps he played in.. Davis averaged 39 snaps per game played. Carter had 53 snaps per game played. Stop making stuff up.

Philly pays their top dollar players after 3 years because that is best for the cap. Howie doesn't flake out. If they don't pay Carter this year, they probably won't next year. Carter probably wants to be the highest paid at his position. Is he worth it?

He's talented, but I feel like he's also a knucklehead.

Wonder if there's some locker room or just general getting to know the guy and hesistancy to give him truly big $$$ and questioning if he's still going to put in the work.
100% just me thinking out loud

Plus, Carter is a knucklehead. Hard to pay someone you can't depend on.

As much as I value the DT position, and as talented as Carter is, gotta say no. Way too much possibility of issues.
