Ah. Rookie Rose.

I don’t think I’ll ever get over that era and the heartbreak of his injuries.

And then for cruel measure, the basketball gods took away Stacey King, too.

They giveth. And then they taketh.

Luka going to regret signing that extension. Luka probably kicking himself for not waiting

New Mavs ownership and FO and some of the players that played with him still on the Mavs.

This doesn’t make sense. At all. The only one who does is Murphy, but then you’d need to move Miller. And that isn’t going to be enough of a needle mover.

Charlotte realizes they weren’t winning with Melo. Trade him while he has value and acquire more assets. Then, use the cap flexibility and assets to make your move when the pieces are in place.

They should just cut him. Edey, Boozer, Coward, Jackson are on rookie contracts the next two years (GG’s and Edey’s option will get picked up).

No reason for Memphis to trade assets to unload him. The only real reason would be to get under the cap to sign free agents before extensions for their core get handed out.

I wonder of there is a non Ja contract that can take on and get assets from. They could even take on Ja and buy him out

From the @ESPN article from college coaches talking about Morez Johnson Johnson, who will reunite with Dusty May in Dallas, received the most attention from college coaches. After spending his freshman season at Illinois before transferring to Ann Arbor, Johnson didn't get the same amount of in-season hype as teammates Yaxel Lendeborg and Aday Mara, but his defensive versatility might have been the key to the Wolverines' dominance on the defensive end. Exactly half of the coaches we spoke with picked Johnson as their favorite player outside of the top-four and point-guard tiers."I love Morez," one coach said. "I've seen him since he was 14, 15 years old. And I've seen him really, really change his game.

That's why I've been so impressed with him. He went through a phase in high school when he was trying to shoot 3s, trying to be KD or whatever. Then the summer going into his senior year, he led the EYBL in rebounding, he turned into what he is today. He said, I'm a 4 or a 5, I'm going to impose my will in the paint. He was the key to them winning it.""I'm buying Morez Johnson," another coach said. "He is so physically imposing, but it's his defensive instincts and his ability to show real offensive skill. As you're watching these playoffs, there's certain guys you can say, he would be awesome in that series. Morez can defend and rebound. If you're a screen door on defense, the other team doesn't have to do anything else. They're just going to run matchup actions at you and they're going to hunt you on every possession until you prove otherwise. You can put Morez in an NBA playoff series."

No. The long game is building a war chest of assets that give a a significant amount of team building flexibility. Hornets arent a tanking team, they have their young core and have every reason to try and get to the playoffs. They are playing the long game with that core and adding currency they can use through trades to build a deep playoff roster
Ok I guess that’s why I don’t see it. I don’t see the core. I see Brandon Miller as a potential star. I don’t know what Knueppel is I thought he was a star but he regressed as the season went on but he’s a good player just not sure if he’s a Robin or a Batman on a winner….

I mean they could use all those players. I think Murphy is the only one available right now and the capital. Murphy and Miller can play the 2 and 3 spot. In today’s league seems like you just need to make sure you have a 5 and a 1 on the floor. Everyone else can be wings.
