I like Flo better.

There’s not much difference in speed but Flo has much more experience. Smith better get out there and shine on ST to make this roster. That is the key to guys at the end of a roster. Earn a spot on special teams gets you active and a chance to get some playing time

The drop-off from #2 WR is profound.

Id like to see Turpin rotated in a lot less as a #3.

However, it's a great opportunity for a #3 to shine so much that it makes Pickens not necessary to highly pay and retain.

I love having Pick here but I love having a stout defense here more and that takes moola.

Flo is likely gonna be the 3. And he played pretty good last year. I agree on Turpin. Love the speed but you almost have to scheme especially for him, and don’t put him in the backfield. He probably helps more as a decoy sometimes just to force a CB to cover him making a safety have to stay back and help with the top 2 guys

WR4-WR5 was his projection so he has some work to do to even make the team.

Anthony Smith - Big fast vertical

This is the first level, unproven, group he is competing against at the outset.

• Traeshon Holden - Big physical possession
• Camden Brown - Big physical red zone and contested ball
• Jordan Hudson - Big physical possession
• Denzel Mims - Big fast vertical
• Tyler Johnson - Physical possession

If he finishes camp up better than all of them, he has to beat out two of these three

• Marquez Valdes-Scantling - Big fast vertical
• Johnathan Mingo - Big physical possession
• Kavontae Turpin - Fast versatile elusive gadget

Two of those become WR4 and WR5 to join the top three

• Pickens - Big physical downfield contested ball
• Lamb - Big, versatile YAC
• Fluornoy - Physical fast contested ball

Smiths biggest completion are guys who do the same thing like Valdez-Scantling and Denzel Mims. He may have an advantage because he’s younger, has contract leverage with a rookie deal, has some guaranteed money and has a draft pick cost on him.

Im telling you right now, I like his chances against scantling and mingo if thats the case, if he shows some kind of consistency in preseason. Dallas will force the Turpin situation so there is no winning there.

Mingo hasn't done anything since college, dont even know how he has survived this long in the nfl doing absolutely nothing. Mingo was so bad in Carolina, that they had to find targets in their TE, and the Panthers are the worse when utilizing the TE.

Scantling has been on 7 teams for a reason.

If this is his comp if it came down to it, then I like his chances. The only way smith messes this up is if he gets injured or just completely bombs. It's his to lose.

He does. He is a solid but not spectacular receiver. I wouldn’t bet against him getting a nice deal elsewhere….probably Jacksonville. Sounds about right.

There's plenty of talent here in the CZ

I could make a compelling case that there's more talent here than on the 2025 Dallas Cowboys roster......yes, I know the bar was low last season, but still.

Also, I go back to one thing blicheck used to say when his scouts would tell him about all the flaws of a player..."tell me the things he does well and we will use him for 10-15 plays during the game". so turpin is not the best route runner, now he has the best hands, he has speed and agility, so design a few plays, use him in 10-15 plays a game, get him the ball 2-4 times a game and call it the day. he is fantastic in the return game, so it helps field position.

Will be a player to watch in TC and PS games. But too much depth at WR. Unless they keep 6 WR's and he truly out plays and Scantling and possibly even Mims.
He could compete with Holden for a spot if 1 of the 2 above do not make the team.
Unless Mingo gets injured again. That may open up some opportunities.

That’s one thing I liked I heard from Parker. He has that mindset. Find what a guy can do best and use that. Just makes so much sense

Between NC st & ECU Smith has 47 games under him . That should serve him well as he steps up to the next level .

Maybe, but it's more dependent on his skillset. If he can't stop the dropsies and learn to run routes, the college experience won't matter.

Smith won't make it, likely PS unless we have several injuries. Turpin makes it because of his return ability.
