Romo on pardon my take about not winning a Superbowl

Who would have thought a rookie 4th-rounder would play so well during his injury that he would lose his job? I have said before, A HEALTHY TONY ROMO was better than a rookie Dak Prescott; healthy is the key word.

Sidenote.....his body reached the point where you could no longer trust it for an entire season, especially after the last back injury. Just bad luck.......something that followed him quite a bit during his career.

Each season ends in disappointment or a parade.

The SB or Bust mentality may fit some fans.

But I think for players and all involved it’s an occupation which delivers a living which can set you up for life or at least in a better direction. Would they rather be on a championship team, of course but they don’t control all of the moving parts.

And I don’t see it as a waste if we don’t win a championship. Dissapointing, frustrating , heartbreaking and sometimes disgusting but not a total waste .

I still enjoy watching each season and all that comes with game day and football season. Winning of course is more fun but can still get entertainment value and some enjoyment .

Bottomline is the Romo we saw return arguably provided us a better opportunity to advance. If he gets hurt again then you being Prescott back.

But that’s not why Jethro went with Prescott. He did because he couldn’t afford for Romo to come up short while benching the Rookie sensation even though we were beginning to see his weakness exposed.

In other worlds Jethro played the Public Perception Card. He was better off losing with Prescott than Romo . and once he made that decision there was no going back to Romo. Regardless if it was a sounder GM move .

I've had a lot of fun, anticipation and excitement in the last 30 years. We've had some fantastically gratifying wins.

But, if you are only focused on the destination, and lose the ability to enjoy the ride its no longer fun. Fans sometimes forget the point. If you cant enjoy the game you're wasting your time.

He also had the worst possible coach at that key juncture. Any competent coach would have been preparing the team & the GM for the starters return all along knowing the fate of playoff rookies. Garrett, ever satisfied with a good excuse if they lost and accolades if they won, was fine with getting behind the marketing train first impulse of his owner.

This......I expected them to continue with Dak as long as his inexperience wasn't a factor that would compromise a playoff game. I kept telling a buddy of mine that we would ride with Dak until/if he hit a wall in the playoffs, then go back to a more experienced Tony Romo.

Well, Romo started late and his body was absolutely destroyed by Jerry figuring he didn’t have to spend top resources on the OL because Hudson Houck was the highest paid OL coach in the league.

He didn’t win a SB. He didn’t GET to one either. He didn’t even GET the the game that decides who goes, let alone do as much as lose it.

His fault? No. Same thing with who replaced him. They are good but not great to the point of being able to carry a team by themselves. They got severely lucky…twice, but then acted as if they were each top end talents to begin with. No…they did more with less. That’s it. When the idiots that build these rosters finally get that then maybe there could be a chance to have a chance.

The talent that’s been squandered over the years is criminal. Wait until the final list goes out. Maybe Jerry can get those names chiseled in his cathedral of a grave. In the next life, IM determined to own HIS favorite team. Watch how that goes.

That is possibly true, but he addressed that lingering thought as well. And his comments now have been voiced after ten years. I would think he would have adjusted to that situation quite well by now.
