Franchise Tag Deadline is today

Couldn’t read all of this but bottom line, not going to pay 2 WR. Thanks
It's not the bottom line,

they will pay 2 wide receivers, they're paying about 6 of them, See where your point just gets way off track?

I don't care that you didn't read it all, You want me to make it more readable, you want me to compress it with AI, just so it's more to your reading capabilities?

What they can't do and what they're not going to do is pay two wide receivers top 5 market money at the same time that is the reason he's not signed yet.

It's not about paying him a fair price he's going to want maximum money; he wants big time WR1 money.

I don't care that you didn't read it all your statement was untrue it lacked facts I gave you the facts that says it's not the same as Chase Vs T Higgins,

T higgins deal is nowhere near with a top market wide receiver one is making. Again, that's my point if George would take something like that where he's making less than CD lamb he would already be signed I hope this is short enough for you because if you want me to compress it more you really shouldn't be having discussions in a form like this twitter would be your style..

If all he wanted was to be paid like A WR 2 and yes T Higgins is the highest paid WR2 then he would already be signed the Cowboys can't afford to have two market setting top 5 contracts at wide receiver that's the difference..
Yes they can. So can Cincinnati and LAR and whoever else.

Extending Pickens would save Dallas money right now. They have chosen to take the most expensive route with the tag.

Agree, I would be OK with it now, if extend him now (playing on tag is costly) would lessen the hit but seeing how he plays this year and another good year like last season will drive up the price. Rather just do it now if plans to keep him.

Let me make it easier If this was about T Higgins money it would already be taken care of You stated T Higgins and Chase 'cause they were two on the same team making a lot of money That's not where I believe George Pickens wants to be you see number two and Drake London number three at Jefferson and even number four at Lamb I believe that's exactly where George wants to be that's my point you can't have two receivers on the same team make top 5 market money thou should be happy to pay down there near 10 to 12 they're already paying him 27.5 million on A tag..

So that's not the issue if he wanted dude number two money he would already have it..

The Top Highest-Paid NFL Wide Receivers by AAV
Higgins sits comfortably near the top ten, directly behind Brandon Aiyuk and ahead of Alec Pierce. Notably, his teammate Ja'Marr Chase leads the entire league. Here is how the top of the wide receiver market looks according to

1Ja'Marr ChaseCincinnati Bengals$40,250,000
2Drake LondonAtlanta Falcons$35,263,500
3Justin JeffersonMinnesota Vikings$35,000,000
4CeeDee LambDallas Cowboys$34,000,000
5D.K. MetcalfPittsburgh Steelers$33,000,000
6Garrett WilsonNew York Jets$32,500,000
7Terry McLaurinWashington Commanders$32,333,333
8A.J. BrownNew England Patriots$32,000,000
9Amon-Ra St. BrownDetroit Lions$30,002,500
10Brandon AiyukSan Francisco 49ers$30,000,000
11Tee HigginsCincinnati Bengals$28,750,000
12Alec PierceIndianapolis Colts$28,500,000

It would be silly of them to do and it would just as silly to give a long term contract to him after the season. The only way I would even consider having that much tied up in the WR position moving forward is if I wasn't going to have the current QB on the team. If they are building a roster that a young QB can compete with, ok I get that. But no way would have that much tied into the WR position and one of the highest paid QBs in the League.

Pickens is not stupid. He knows if he behaves and produces this year even close to last year he is getting arguably the biggest bag any WR has ever gotten; or he will be close.
This year is showing how much self discipline he has.

Don’t know what happened to Smith-Njigba. He’s pretty high on that list. Or I’ve been misinformed. So you’re saying Pickens is going to be traded. If he is tagged again it’s minimum $32.76 million and the Cowboys would be paying two top ten AAV wide receivers in 2027. And Pickens’ cap hit would be all $32.76 million. (a big cap hit)

Nothing will happen.

A year from now our WR1 will be on a second franchise tag and be rightfully angry.

If they tag him next year, which is what I think they'll do, that's essentially paying 2 WRs. Actually worse. Had they given him a 4 year contract when they got him, there is typically an out after 3 years, and the first 2 years wouldn't be 60 million against the cap. But that ship has sailed. I highly doubt they extend him now.

Lamb is our 1 or are you trying to start drama (if so I like it)
Well, GP outperformed CeeDee last year pretty handily

CeeDee was down and GP had a career year.

I think we’ll see GP show WR1 ability again this year.

CeeDee is an excellent wide receiver but GP has some extraordinary skills and defensive coordinators have taken notice and plan for him because he can be a game breaker.
