I remember Jones saying that. Even so, Garrett was customarily repeating whatever Jones told him if Garrett's lips were moving. Just my opinion about anything Dallas related.

Wildly is probably too strong, but he's like many quarterbacks who are over-glorified due to a team's success beyond their actual performance.

Starr, Griese, Bradshaw, Simms, Stabler, McMahon ...lots of over-glorified QBs in the past

There were other quarterbacks just as good as Troy essentially, but weren't in as good of a situation. QBs like Bartkowski, Bert Jones, Grogan, Sipe, Hart, Ken Anderson.... even Stafford somewhat before he got to a much better situation. Stafford is truly an elite quarterback and always was. Romo was a notch below him.

Troy was really good, but nowhere near the class of Brady, Peyton, Montana, Tarkenton, Mahomes, Farve, Elway, Marino, and others.

Troy threw a couple routes incredibly well, but he wasn't moving in the pocket and dropping dime throws like other guys. He did play with poise in big games though, and he didn't screw it up when the team was awesome.

If Dak was as tough and good...he should be able to easily come back in.

And surely Dak had to think or know at some point Romo would come back.

Why even play Romo for that series if didn’t have intention on him returning.

It’s all very suspect and why there was something bigger at play which influenced the decision to stay with Dak.

Yep. I’ve presented over the years that the early success with Jimmy wasn’t worth what we’ve had to deal with since and continue to deal with until who knows how long.

If we think 30 years is a long time , how will we feel in 40 and 50 years ?

I would have liked our chances over time with Lakers or Mavs owners who had higher bids than Jethro.

Moot point, could be any number of reasons Romo suited up. Perhaps that wanted to rest Romo a game or two?
Because it's an unnecessary risk. This isn't hard. Stop with your Dak nonsense, it was clearly a good idea to start Prescott. Everyone making the argument that Romo "Might" have played better is simply assuming. It's complete conjecture.

I never bought into that idea, until I heard from coaches and players at the time. It was almost like everyone BUT Switzer was running the team.
