Pickens was a 2+ yard per route player in Pittsburgh his last two seasons, that’s legit #1 WR territory.

He benefited from the cowboys offense for sure but not nearly as much as it’s made out to be. His counting stats were down mostly due to a lower number of snaps, not quality of play. I’m not sure the talent has ever been in question for Pickens.

Talent was there. Production wasn't.

The raw numbers is what matters. Let's not pretend otherwise.

Going just off of the counting stats can be a horrible way to evaluate production if you ignore the effeciency metrics that go along with it.

You're telling me that the QB play is the primary difference here? The fact that Pickens got 25% fewer passing snaps the previous season in Pittsburgh isn't the primary factor? If you adjust Pickens 2024 pace to the same number of opportunities he had in 2025 hes still a 1300 yard WR. That still shows the Cowboy bump, but it's not nearly as extreme.

There are some exceptions, Justin Jefferson last year had a fairly significant drop off last season and I dont think its talent related, but overall we see that QBs don't have quite the extreme effect as we probably think. Even someone like Lamb who has 13 career games without Dak averages 74.5 ypg without him since 2021....I forgot he was a rookie in 2020 so I missed some of those games and dont want to redo the math lol. Over a full season that's still a 1,268 yard year, right in line with his career norms.

The effeciency metrics aren't a fool proof method in player evaluation, but certainly tell a fuller story. it's exactly why its was very easy to point out that someone like Tolbert wasn't really a starting NFL WR after his mini breakout in 2024. Yeah his slash line looked pretty good for a secondary receiver, however he was close to the top of the league in terms of routes he ran that year. That year was a story of his opportunity volume, not a story of vastly improved play.

Going off yardage totals is basically saying the RB who got 1,000 yards on 200 carries is the same as the RB who got 1,000 yards on 300 carries. Those are two very different results production wise.

You didn't really address the question though. Has that not been widely stated as a weakness of Dak's for his entire career?

Those same ratings had Goff at something like 13. Goff has some of the best numbers & results since like 2021 of any QB in the NFL. Why wasn't he up there with the elites or first in the group behind them? Why those discrepancies? Because this is a list that I'm guessing is more about summer time content & generating clicks.

It is clear but incorrect. The majority of the board, even Dak supporters (or mostly former supporters) have questioned that skillset as well as HOF QB Kurt Warner. Tony & Troy have also made comments about needing to let it go. After a decade, we shouldn't really have to discuss things as obvious as this.

We are talking about one specifc aspect of playing QB. What positive comments have I ignored in regard to his anticipation and why are they more valid than the evidence? I also notice you actually haven't weighed in with your opinion as to whether this weakness is real or not.

It's the flaws that keep him from being a top flight QB so very relevant when you talk about the appropriate tier he should be considered.

You don't hear me or most anyone talking about Mahomes, Burrows, etc., weaknesses because their complete game is so tight. If he didn't have flaws, we'd all agree he belonged at the top of the pyramid with those guys.

Pickens was an afterthought in Pittsburgh. One thousand yard season in his first 3 years.

And now after a year in Dallas, he's universally regarded as a top 10 WR in the league.

At times, you cannot take people seriously on here, and I am still not sure if the guy you are replying to was joking or being serious. In Pittsburgh, it goes way beyond not having a competent QB; it's all about not having an offensive-minded HC or organization that sees that part of the game as vital.

The only major difference is Zay Flowers is #8 WR on the top 100 but is not in this top ten and Drake London is #10 on this list but not in the top ten on the top 100 list. A couple place changes between lists but nothing crazy.

And as I said, you took one comment and genralized a career. Or did you miss that? And those few Commentators also said a lot of positive things as well, which as I mentioned you chose to totally ignore and.now playing dumb as if you had never heard it before. Or is this another bash dak session for you?

He is not elite. No one sane would argue that. He is a top 10 QB and has been one consistently. Being he is not elite he has flaws. So do all other non elite QBs. Are you saying top 10 type QBs are not top flite?

And don't compare to mahomes, that's insult to mahomes. All you DDS cult always crying because Dak is not mahomes. How many QBs are.mahomes. or burrows?
