PFF: Top 10 WR's in the NFL today

Was George Pickens ever ranked as a top 10 WR prior to joining Dallas? Yes or no?

Is Pickens ranked a top 10 WR now? Yes or no?

Will Pickens now be PAID like a top 10 WR moving forward BECAUSE OF this added production ("counting stats")? Yes or no?

You're overthinking the obvious and it's weird.

Dak is a good QB. Therefore, the Cowboys offense is good. Therefore, more snaps for the offense and more opportunities for the WRs. That leads to better COUNTING stats, and higher rankings among their peers...... and yes, higher contracts.
Eh I think you're over simplifying the situation to fit a Dak narrative. Personally I have no issues with Dak other than his contract....I simply don't believe QBs have nearly the impact on WR performance as we think, although some exceptions will apply to that in extreme cases. Nor do I view yardage as a reliable measuring stick for performance. Was Jared Goff better than Dak last year since he had more yards?

The 2024 Steelers only ran 40 fewer overall snaps than the 2025 Cowboys did. The issue I bring up around snap counts was more about Pickens missing time than anything else. Hes pretty easily over 1,000 yards in 2024 without the missed time and playing through the hamstring injury.

Pickens getting paid like a top 10 WR has always had a lot more to do with his behavior than it has been about his talent/stats.

As far as his improvement goes he cut his drop rate down by more than half while increasing his contested catch rate by a significant margin. He was an extremely gift player with Pittsburgh who made another step forward in year 4 of his career....which is a pretty common time for a young player to progress in the league.

Turning a Pickens accomplishment into a Dak accomplishment is odd....If anything the Lamb effect is probably a bigger boost to him IMO as they get to share defensive attention. Honestly if Dak goes down and misses the entire season I'm pretty confident that Sam Howel could throw for 4000+ yards with these receivers.

Why won't you answer my yes/no questions from my last post?

I know why and you know why.

Because they destroy your goofy narrative that counting stats isn't how WRs are judged.

Yeah he is a great regular season champion.

When's the parade?
Why wasn't Sam Darnold ranked in the top 10? He just had an actual parade!

Oh, because football's a team sport?

And only a clown would think QB rankings are based on TEAM accomplishments?

Coaches, scouts and execs knew that. You didn't.

Dak keeps kicking your teeth in. Bathe in the shame.

Ranked the 6th best QB in the NFL by coaches, scouts and execs. Makes you look and feel foolish, I'm sure.
Now if only once he'd play well in a meaningful game against a true contender instead of crapping his pants.

Of course, he's only 32, so I guess we expect too much.

Ask PFF they came up with this ranking not me.
NFL coaches, scouts and execs did the QB rankings I'm referring to, not PFF.

So those who are paid to know this sport inside and out would say that you don't know jack about the QB position.

I'll repeat it slowly for you.

NFL coaches, scouts and execs just ranked Dak as the 6th-best QB in football.

That means that your opinion on Dak is completely idiotic according to the men who are paid to know this sport inside and out.
:lmao2:

Your original post literally made me laugh so thank you for that.

That's not a horrible list although some of them could be swapped out for guys like Olave, Sutton, Smith, etc. And they better make room for Tetairoa.

I can answer your questions, I just didn't because they are not as relevant to the topic as you think.

as George Pickens ever ranked as a top 10 WR prior to joining Dallas? Yes or no?
No, PFF had him as #23 in 2024....not top 10, but not exactly the afterthought you claim him to be. He was a really good player with Pittsburgh...especially for a guy in his age 23 season.

Is Pickens ranked a top 10 WR now? Yes or no?
Yes, obviously

Will Pickens now be PAID like a top 10 WR moving forward BECAUSE OF this added production ("counting stats")? Yes or no?
Sort of, but not really....Pickens was always in line to get paid like a top 10 WR, which is likely a huge reason the Steelers were willing to trade him. Garrett Wilson got top 5 money but has never beat Pickens 1140 yard 2023. Tee Higgins hasnt hit 1000+ yards since 2022 and got top 10 money. DK Metcalf got top 5 money. Drake London has 1 1000+ yard season and just got top 3 money coming off a 900 yard year.

Teams are paying waaaay too much money to build up analytic teams to pay players based off of traditional counting stats like its 2002 still. The deeper data points and film are what's getting these guys paid.

The overall suggestion that the primary reason Pickens is in line to get a massive pay day is because of Dak is insulting to the player.

Whoever suggested that has a serious case of DDS
Very few did. TMC lies. Alot. One of the topics of the time was how did Rush achieve such a record? Either AC or TMC suggested the team played better for Rush.

I don't believe that for one second...but if true...certainly brings more questions.

Crazy how Pickens never made any top 10 lists…now that he has Dak throwing it to him he’s top 10….but yall wanted me to believe Andy Dalton and Cooper Rush was better? Nuts.
CeeDee had nothing to do with it, eh?

If Dak is as good as you're implying, he'd make a lot more WRs look better.

Yet again, your crusade is showing you don't know football. Just here to fight with people.

If anyone wanted to do a real valuation on the top WR in the NFL, you should ask all 32 DC's which WR scares them the most
It would be nice if a sports media entity like ESPN would do so, but their stated method (link) of getting input would likely net responses far below that of all 32 defensive coordinators. I would guess-estimate six? Perhaps three? None verifiable by readers, of course.

#23 to #7????

How'd that happen?????

Couldn't possibly be because of the enormous increase in "counting stats", right??????
