Can Jonathan Mingo finally develop into a reliable fourth option for the Cowboys?

He would be now if he could stay healthy.

They love Turpin though so that #4 spot isn't really available anyway.

I just don't see the #4 WR getting much action in this offense, unless there's a significant injury to one of the other guys. Still, I have more faith in Mingo that Turpin as a WR.

Occasionally a team will spend a draft pick and you’ll know in that moment it was wasted

A 2nd for Schoonmaker, a 4th for Lance, a 4th for Mingo. What was the best case scenario in any of these? sometimes, this board is right in their gut reactions

Lamb-Pickens-Flournoy-Turpin are the top four.

The Cowboys' confidence in Mingo is best summed up by the fact they talked Marquez Valdez-Scantling out of near retirement to sign here.
Not to mention they asked him for a pay cut, on his entry level contract.

I see no signs of him being anything let alone important

He would be the #3 even if he was the only WR on the team

Is the fourth option ever considered reliable? I'd say it's rare.

If he actually got the ball coming his way who knows what he could be, not enough balls here to come his way

Nope. Stranger things have happened, but in my opinion, no.

He’s a bust. He couldn’t do anything on a desperate Carolina team. He hasn’t done anything here.

In a 3 year career he has made approximately 0 splash plays at a position where splash plays are normal. Like, it was easy for me to see Flournoy was going to potentially be a player because he pretty quickly started making those splash plays you want to see in a developing young WR.

Mingo has done jack.

He’s a good run blocker at least.

He’ll be cut by the end of camp, or maybe traded for a 7th round pick swap.

In 14 games for the Cowboys, Mingo has 6 receptions on 21 targets for 71 yards. That's a 28.5% catch rate.

Meanwhile, Turpin has 70 catches on 110 targets (63.6% catch rate) for 952 yards and 7 TDs. I don't get why people are so quick to wanna pull him on the field.
