Any chance Shy Jr. is the savior?

In the distant past, I remember reading Stephen saying that he would favor hiring a GM if and when he takes over for Jerry one day. I'm hoping, by all that's holy, that he'll keep his word about that. Whether it's Stephen or Shy, Jr., let's hope that promise eventually lives on, to be dutifully granted. ;)

Here’s Spaulding picking a winner.

I don't know, but he has a will of his own. He might end up mostly staying out of the real football affairs and stick to the corporate dealings, but it is up in the air.
He’s already a scout and always in the war room.

Before the Cowboys, PawPaw got him a job as a scout for the Razorbacks.

He definitely considers himself a footballl guy.

Dude is absolutely planning to nepo his way to the top.

Jerry - 36 years - GM
Stephen - 36 years - COO
Charlotte - 36 years - Marketing
Jerry Jr - 36 years - Sales
Spaulding - 31 years - Scout and Future GM

Todd Williams - 32 yrs - VP Football Ops
Craig Gliebert - 36 yrs - Travel/Logistics
Jason McCay - 14 yrs - Football Tech
Adam Prasifka - 26 yrs - Salary Cap/Contracts
Brian Wansley - 31 yrs - Player Development
Will McClay - 25 yrs - VP Personnel
Jim Maurer - 37 yrs - Head of Training

Not sure if anyone can trust a quote from either Jerry or Stephen Jones on the topic of general manager. Whatever either man says on the subject will only hold relevance if they follow through with an atypical action.

Personally, I do not see it with them. Charlotte Jones? She does not fill me with certainty, but I can feel the possibility of something actually happening at least.

At least Dallas doesn’t have one of the owners prowling the sidelines game day with pad and pen like the 1950’s Colts of today . Omg

The hope is if the family is too big to cleanly split this thing when the inevitable happens and they decide to sell.
Could see it going like the end of the TV show Succession. Family waste time with ego battles and infighting, trying to decide who will do what (despite their dad’s instructions), and in the meantime a hostile buyer comes in and makes the decision for them.

Cryogenics and AI driven medical advancement will have Jerry back as owner and GM in 2037.

Groundhog Day, my brother.
I foresee that science will turn Jerry into a cyborg which will enable him to charge up every 48 hours using his dual capacity home electric vehicle charging station with an adapter cord that rectally plugs in. They don't call me Nostrildamus for nothing!

Cowboys make so much money I doubt any family member would want to rock that boat once Jerry goes.
I'm sure Jerry has it set up as well from all their other ventures to give the family millions upon millions as well.

Stephen has been doing the play along GM role for too long to ever give that up. Maybe he'll give McClay a fancier title but I can't see him hiring a GM and stepping back either.

There is no savior on the horizon. I'm sure one of Jerry Jr or Stephen kids will be given a bigger role in short order in player acquisition.

His sustinance will be a rudimentary paste consisting of Gerbers strained Peach and Johnny Walker Blue.

As I described the situation, it happened several decades ago, so whether or not those words will ever come to fruition, it certainly remains to be seen. If a GM outside of the Jones family will ever be allowed to make team decisions, there's plenty of room for doubt. I'm hoping it happens at some point in the future, although I really wouldn't bet on it -- it'd surely be a blessing if it did, though!
Perhaps it's nothing more than wishful thinking on my part . . . ;)

I think it’s likely that there will still be a Jones family owner, and quite possibly a GM after most posters here are in the ground

1989 - 2029: Jerry
2029 - 2045: Stephen
2045 - 2070: Spaulding

If his marriage choice is any indication of acquiring talent I think we'll be alright.

That guy married up so much better than him that his nose probably still bleeds.

A 2 getting an 8 is just sound roster aquisition

She merely needs to squeeze out a few puppies, put up with him for a few years and then divorce.

She gets a windfall of cash and can get a nanny to watch the kids while she gets hammer time with "Chad" and "Tyrone"

The playbook is well known and executed by modern women everday.....of course it wouldn't be complete without them ranting about it on TikTok.
