This would be one that you could watch with the wife.

Surprisingly good movie & did watch it with the wife. I also think it's funny that Alfred Molina that is the voice of the octopus Marcellus was also Doc Ock in Spiderman 2

We (Mrs Point and I ) watched Mercy (Chris Pratt) and Crime 101 (Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry) in the last week. Both pretty good flicks if you like whodunits. Crime 101 was the better flick IMO. Both kept my attention well. Amazon Prime Video. Mercy gets a 6.5 on the Point Meter and Crime 101 gets a 7.5.

Also a few weeks back watched Nick Cage in The Old Way. I have a hard time seeing Cage in a Western role. Some good humor by the child actress who plays Brook, Cage's daughter. 5.5 or maybe a 6. Been a while since we watched it.

Oddyssey - 5 or 6 of 10.

For a supposed epic, it felt oddly small. Definitely some stretches of boredom, especially early on.

I thought the movie got better as it progressed, but there was never a scene that was great. Good may be stretching it for some of the best parts.

I appreciate the use of practical effects which made thing seem more real than they could have, but it didn't alleviate from the sense that everything about this movie was just kind of dull.

Easily in the bottom half of Nolan films for me, but far from his worst.

A friend watched it, told me it felt like some Documentary from the History channel that had a really big budget. Have been looking forward to watching it but was kind of bummed when he was talking about it.

Obsession - 7/10

I don't usually like creepy movies - I guess this classifies as horror. But this was pretty good. Somewhat predictable, but
Inde Navarrette absolutely made this movie. Her mood swings and gestures were extremely well done.

At one point I was asking myself, out loud, "How can that be so creepy, and still be hot?"

People who enjoy a lot of horror movies may find it too tame, but I liked it.

I think it was a surprise hit. Everyone was thinking Disclosure Day was going to be the big dog but a smaller indie type movie was all the talk...similar to Iron Lung.

Oppenheimer reminded me of The imitation Game. One watch was enough and nothing there to really make me want to watch it again. This coming from someone that can watch a movie over and over if I like it. But both were just kind of slow again more like a documentary. Plus although Oppenheimer was 3 hours, it seemed like it was way longer than that.

Parts of the story telling segments were interesting. Some of the visuals were pretty cool. But the whole love story main part of it was just too meh for me.

Those would probably be my bottom 3 as well, with Dunkirk being my least favorite.

I liked parts of Oppenheimer, but it was two disjointed with a lot of material that just wasn't very interesting.

Tenet...mayne I'd like it more with repeat viewings, but I'm not in a rush to do that.

I would put The Oddyssey above those three.

Just one of those classics that after some years of not watching it you go and give it a watch. You forget how good it was. You forget how many recognizable faces in it that you had forgot. I mean Brad Douriff, Christopher Lloyd and Danny Devito looked so young in that movie. Also perfect casting for nurse ratched. Louise Fletcher nailed it. Just a great movie.
For those that have not seen it in a long time, give it a go again.
If you have never seen it...try it, I think you will like it.

There is another movie called The Bay. It is a mockumentary creature feature. It's fantastic. It is on Tubi. You should check it out.

I went into this one with no expectations. I had heard some of the online chatter, but wanted to make up my own mind.

I have to say that I really enjoyed it. And marvel at the performance and obvious commitment of Matt Damon. The older I get, the more I realize and appreciate the investment that actors put into their roles.

I was surprised that Nolan chose to go so modern and conventional in his choice of dialogue. It was much more contemporary than I expected.

I thought the effects and visuals were great throughout, especially given some of what they were doing.

While it’s lengthy, I didn’t really feel it, or find myself feeling bored, which is to its credit. I think Christopher Nolan is probably the best director of this current generation and I look forward to his next film.

I’d give this one an 8 out of 10.

It’s quality, epic filmmaking that keeps people going to the movies, which is a good thing.

I watched Project Hail Mary last night. A lot of people really liked this movie, and I get it, the end was probably more satisfying than most movies like this. But overall, I thought it was kind of dumb. Saturday morning cartoon type dumb. I give it a 6 of 10.

Saw the Odyssey Thursday, 6/7 out of 10. Slow, disjointed and overall disappointed. Jason and the Argonauts from the 60’s is better! Gladiator puts it to shame imo. No real desire to watch it again when it comes to streaming although I probably will just to see if I missed something. Could and should have been so much better.

That's hilarious. My wife and I just watched it last night, too. I thought it was a little kitschy; definitely not what I thought it was going to be like heading in. I'd probably give it a 5 out of 10.
