Bucs star DL Vita Vea has requested a trade from the team

Great another name out there. That fans will want to give up the farm for.

How did this work out for all those that wanted to give up he farm for Brooks from the Dolphins. When all along he was going to get a new contract in Miami.

By the end of August. Vea will get a new contract in TB. Unless he pulls a Micah. Then the TB owner may pull a Jerry.

Can't blame either side. He wants one more payday. Bucs probably are hesitant to give another contract to a 31 year old big man.
Not everyone ages like Wilfork.

Have to pass.
Probably. I'm thinking the asking price will be too steep for a guy getting long in the tooth. He's missed games more and more in recent years as well. But the for the right trade, maybe worth a look. Not asking at all would be a disservice to the team.

As for me, nope. Take a hard look, yes, but give up the farm? No way. He's not that guy anymore.

If the asking price is a bag of oranges then I'm in. We should at least call to see what ridiculous trade they'd want. I say that because it will be too much. He's missed games and isn't the same player. The Bucs won't trade him unless some team drastically overpays.

IMO, the Buccaneers are dumb if they don't want to pay Vea. I don't know how negotiations have even taken this long.

If they think they're a playoff team - and in a garbage NFC South, they should - then Vea will be a key part in winning those big games. Vea's getting old, but DTs usually age well, and he should have 1-2 top quality seasons in the tank easily.

And if the Bucs are trying to tear it down, then why aren't they shopping Baker?
Isn't he under contract this year....why does a team have to pay a player a year early because they demand it? You signed a contract, play under it.

Wow, I'm shocked to hear it actually. I wonder why? He's a stalworth for them so I highly doubt they move him. He could just be going for a new bag of cash too.
He was a player I would have been trying to acquire for the past several years. But not now. We already made our moves and paid a hefty price for who we have. Plus we have too much $ allocated in our DT's already.

Calm down Cowboys fans. Milton Williams got $26 million last year so you can imagine it will take at least $30 million to sign Vea.

Why I would do it:

There are several plays a game when Vea puts it into a higher gear and simply dominates offensive linemen. He can get a tremendous push up the middle when he does. Playing net to or just spelling Quinnen Williams would make the Cowboys DL dominant.

Why I would not do it:

There are several plays a game where Vea puts it into a higher gear and dominates offensive lineman. Each year the number of those plays seems to decrease. He is 31 and maybe slowing down just a notch. I don't know that he can give a team the number of plays that would justify $30 million.

I really believe Vea is just using the common "trade me" ploy to get a deal done. I don't think the Bucs would trade him without getting a really favorable deal. Maybe SF would di it, but as much as I like the player, I don't think I would touch him for $30 million at this point.

Here we go again the Internet yesterday blew up with the Cowboys should trade for this guy are you kidding me why is guys like Dexter Lawrence and Vita Vea getting traded from their teams because their teams can't seem to afford them or by the way this is not Jerry Jones not getting deals done why are these deals getting done Why did the Jets trade QW to us this was such an important position that the Dallas Cowboy fans feel like somehow we should get another guy who's angry about his contract who wants big money who we already have a guy on our team's gonna need the same big money but our fan base thinks we should make the trade happen and if Jerry does and Jerry is really really stupid..

No Jerry's not the one with the problem that would be the fan base that every single player who wants to leave their team should be on the Dallas Cowboys every disgruntled player who wants to be overpaid especially ones that are long in the tooth by the way who their teams that they've been on for a very long time don't want them anymore enough to pay them jerry should do it Yep that that's what the Cowboys should do try to fit a player in at a position that we don't need right now.

Yes I saw the post yesterday went out of control on Twitter and Facebook it's so ridiculous that and even one fan in here suggests the Cowboys to try to trade for this guy he does not want to play under his current contract the Cowboys cannot afford him the Cowboys do not need him What we could use is a left tackle a veteran middle linebacker maybe an outside linebacker who is a really good pass rusher but we definitely don't need Vita Vea...STOP
