Bucs star DL Vita Vea has requested a trade from the team

IMO, the Buccaneers are dumb if they don't want to pay Vea. I don't know how negotiations have even taken this long.

If they think they're a playoff team - and in a garbage NFC South, they should - then Vea will be a key part in winning those big games. Vea's getting old, but DTs usually age well, and he should have 1-2 top quality seasons in the tank easily.

And if the Bucs are trying to tear it down, then why aren't they shopping Baker?

Generally speaking,.......the Bucs have a decent track record of taking care of their players. No idea what's going on with them..........Mayfield is having issues getting a new deal also.

stop it you know we have to say that to every player that's released or looking to get traded!!! I remember a few years ago someone started it, I love doing it now soon as someone is available lol

Only reason I’m interested in this story is that it’s a bunch more cap room that Jerry wasted by not extending Quennin.

Extending him could have freed up $15m this season which would have gotten us our pick of Tremaine Edmunds, Devin Lloyd, Quay Walker or Nakobe Dean

All of them are superior to Winters and could have saved us a fifth round pick.

It’s made me question the Cowboys commitment to Quennin

If they had extended him two years, through 2029, it would have given them the rest of his prime and likely cost them an additional $60-$70m. The trade would have been a 1st and a 2nd for 4.5 years of Williams.

Waiting until next season or the one before his final year will end up adding up to $100m in new money, keep him a couple of years into his decline.

What I’m afraid is going to happen is they are going let him play this year and next and then let him go, making the trade a 1st and a 2nd for a 2.5 year rental.

Clark will be gone by then so we will be back in DT purgatory.

Definfiely sounds like something our idiot front office would do.

Assuming they wanted to come to Dallas and we know Dean chose less money not to play here.
