Cowboys name a leadership council

You forgot Michael Irvin...the motor, engine, heart and soul of the 90s Cowboys. The man partied all night and STILL LED WITH AUTHORITY...

LOL..."leadership council".
Yea ....... but I do not consider someone who stabs a teammate in the neck, a great leader.

He was the heart of the team ...... but not a leader.

Leaders make mistakes...even crimes of passion. But you don't have to take my word or your word...the players all said he was the leader, heart, soul of the team. Can't take that away from him anymore than we can take his violent actions away.

Ok ..... again ..... I do not consider a drug addict who stabbed a teammate a great leader.

You can feel that way if ya want ...... no skin of my teeth.

Cool. You're alone in your view, but hey...that's why it's called an opinion.

Also, I don't "feel" anyway...I'm talking about his teammates, coaches and writers who covered the team closely have said.

This is just dumb. What’s the point?

There’s some solid veteran players on the team that aren’t on it. If I’m one of them I laugh at this. What are they like the team police?

What’s to gain here? You want to name a captain for each unit just before the season? Yeah I guess so but I still don’t see the benefit other than that they ought to guide young guys….but isn’t that already understood without this?
If you really have no idea what it is, beyond reading a single tweet with a list of names, perhaps you should look into it.

There are answers to the questions you asked but they are different than the cynical and jaded ones that you have supplied yourself

Oh I don’t care. Just seems odd in the time of everyone being easily offended and getting their feelings hurt. Participation trophy era.

You really need to come at me in that tone?

You’re right. Sorry about that

The Cowboys 2026 leadership council:

- Quinnen Williams
- Kenny Clark
- Rashan Gary
- Jalen Thompson
- Javonte Williams
- Dak Prescott
- Tyler Booker
- CeeDee Lamb
- Jake Ferguson
- Bryan Anger
- Rockport

Ryan Clark said punters aren't football players so we can discount Anger.

Thread about to get closed soon lol
It doesn't have to.

Many many moons ago, we used to be able to be world's apart in viewpoints but we also had love for where we were as a people and found the things we have in common.

We all have fandom to the Cowboys so we can disagree about things without personal attacks that close a thread.

Dont blame me for that syrupy message.....im currently in a state of grace in the search for stoicism

"many moons ago"...we still had a healthy respect and maybe a tad fear...about what we said to people. We knew there were consequences.
Now? In the age of the Keyboard Warrior, people don't care. They barely even read what you wrote let alone comprehend it before they go for the jousting win.

Very true.

I dont claim to being virtuous either and ive certainly posted things I regretted but I generally refrain from personal attacks.....unless they are comedy gold.

My biggest disappointment is when I use sarcasm and passive/aggressive comedy and folks take it literally.

Alot is lost or misconstrued in typing and texting, lol

You’ve never played team sports I take it. Every team has a group of leaders the players look up to.
We like our leaders to be the ones who end up on top in a prison style scissor shiving over a haircut.

Oh I am not absolving myself for sure!

And FOR SURE our personalities don't translate the screen very well. But you can kinda tell who's doing it for good fun and who needs to self validate.

The funny part is that the Qb debates always bring out the worst in us.

I think there was plenty of room for debating and arguing but now that there's a decade long record to refer to, I dont waste much energy on it.

Additionally, with the 30th ranked defense, we have bigger fish to fry.

Although, the mansion demolition topic never seems to get old. :)
