The hype of Jaishawn Barham

Barham doing good as a rookie in camp is a good sign, however doesn't mean it translates this year to the real game. Does mean he as a future though. Remember last year Malachi Lawrence in camp kept being reported as unblockable and ended up not getting many sacks in the real game.
Good point. I'd add Caleb Downs to that as well. Supposed to be so good but was completely invisible last year.

that type of thinking is so foolish
Not one bit. One of my best buddies is a Big Michigan guy. He loves JB and got me excited about the pick. That said they are going to make him learn a new position. New defense. He will struggle.

His size is really nice especially at LB

RAS (Raw Athletid Score) grades a players measurable against other players of their position going back to 1987.

Of course, with hybrid type players, their RAS grades will look differently based on the position

Check out Barham as a DE and then as a LB.

A variance of 0.69, which is huge.

I also added Malachi Lawrence who had a really high RAS.

And finally, Sonny Styles who scored a 10.00.

He had the highest LB RAS all time compare to 3,216 others

He certainly isn't struggling. He has been impressive since he arrived.

OLB is his natural position. Cowboys said after the draft they want to see him at MLB..

There were some folks questioning his ability to play LB because he was pressed into service as an edge rusher three games into his senior year due to to the teams weak pass rush and that was what was listed on draft day

38 games at OLB
7 games at EDGE

Malachi was totally insane last years training camp!

Now keep surrounding him with good players. We need winters out there with him. Id honestly bring in a vet like Bobby wagner right now. Resign Clowney. Id even look at adding another vet cb

He is. He switched mostly to OLB / Edge last 2 years. I think the Cowboys see him as an off ball MLB. He played some of that in college.
Barham was a 4 star recruit off ball linebacker out of high school. Started as a true freshman at Maryland. After two years he transferred to Michigan and again played off ball linebacker. It wasn't until last year that he was moved to the outside as a pass rusher.
