Predict the Cowboys' record after the first 5 games

I'm going to say 2-3 but not to worry.

The Cowboys defense has too many new parts to dominate early in the season. I'm going to say that it will take 4-5 games for them to get things together.

I think we will see steady improvement from there and the Cowboys will go 8-4 after the first five games to finish 10-7.

However, it's not the record or the seed that will matter. The Cowboys will own the momentum and make it to their first conference championship game in 30 seasons.

And then what? I don't know. The revelation hasn't hit me yet.

True, but since many of those new parts are experienced NFL players, I don't think it will take near as long as you think.

I agree. The critical element is cohesion. They may be experienced in the NFL but not with each other or with that particular defense.

Participating in the preseason used to be the a way of developing compatibility.

In the course of a play, it would be an advantage to know the tendencies of your teammate and how they will most likely react so that the attack can be coordinated. When a player is unfamiliar with his teammates then they tend to get in each other's way.
