Sturm - The Dallas Defense Finally Has Their War Daddy

Sturm does a deep dive on Quennin today. His typical detailed look with film analysis and commentary.

Suffice to say, he’s extremely high on him

How good is Quinnen as we head into 2026? Very.

Debating the qualities of a player is something we all do in the offseason to pass the time. Boy, he is good, yes. But, is he better than this other guy? Is he better than Jeffery Simmons or Chris Jones or Dexter Lawrence?

Williams is one of only two defensive tackles ranking in the NFL’s top 10 in both pass-rush win rate AND run-stop win rate. This is the gold standard. Elite interior linemen typically excel in one dimension, but Williams is exceptional at both. He’s not a specialist; he’s a complete player.
51 total pressures proves consistent disruptive impact. His 19.6% pass rush win rate as a Cowboy (second in the league) shows elite frequency of getting to the QB. This of course multiplies when surrounded by more pieces of quality.
But, the top run defending is the rare air. His impact on the ground game is elite-tier and this definitely matters when facing the run-heavy attacks. You earn the right to rush the passer.

Seems to me that Quinnen was a non-factor last season. And now we're calling him a 'war daddy'?

Geebus, the pre season really is nauseating sometimes. Why wasn't he a war daddy last season?

Here are some metrics to prompt your memory. Let’s just use run defense to start
  • Pre-Trade (Weeks 1–9): 4th-worst run defense in the league (28th) .
  • Post trade (weeks 10-17): Immediate Post-Trade (Next 3 Games): 12th best in the league
  • Q alone: Finished the season ranked 1st among all NFL interior defensive linemen with a 91.7 PFF run-defense grade.
His PFF for the season

Classy. Could you just wish he sold the team or stepped down? No need to wish death on someone. What has he ever done to you to deserve death?

Constant posts on here about not wishing injury on players. But this is deemed okay.
Not trying to speak for him but we know neither stepping down or selling the team are actually gonna happen...sooooo there's only one real inevitable option to "hope" for

Missing the point. Hoping for that option is classless and unnecessary. You could have the best owner, best GM and best coach in the game. Doesn't guarantee a title. No need to hope for his death. Regardless of what you think of him, he is still a father, a husband and a grandfather. To wish death on someone in the hope it gives a team a better chance to win a title says more about you than it does him.

What’s Lawrence doing? I haven’t heard anything and that’s probably not a good sign
Eatman said on 105.3 that he hasn’t done much but made reference to Ware and how it took a bit for him too.

I guess we’ll find out in due time.
