How confident are that the Cowboys have turned it around for 2026?

I am so jaded by this history of this team over the last 30 years. Confidence is irrelevant. Show me something. I heard the usual post draft hype. Then I heard the pre-season hype. Now it's the training camp hype. But I have heard the same things for the last 30 years. I am using my head not my heart when it comes to this team. My heart has been keel-hauled behind Jerry's yacht for so long it no longer functions.

I think the defense has a chance to be slightly better than last year but I am not jumping on any bandwagon just yet. Show me a pass rush. Show me they can stop the run to the outside. Show me their CBs can cover somebody without getting flagged.

I think t is 50-50 they make the playoffs but that is a guess and experience as a fan talking.

For those of us who've been here for all Cowboys SBs , we witnessed what a championship culture looks like. I'm not seeing it when we have an unproven HC who only got 7 wins the previous year. Now several people will bring up Jimmy went 1-15 before winning his first of two SBs. Jimmy also just won a CFB Championship a few years prior. He's a champion HC

Bold> I would hope not. The incoming first-year roster situations for Jimmy Johnson and Brian Schottenheimer are markedly dissimilar. It is a bad apples-to-oranges comparison to make.
 
Right now I'm not setting any expectations.. That's why I chose the one I chose it was the closest thing i'm just going to really wanna see some preseason games some real scrimmages 11 on 11


You know against our own team but more so a couple of the scrimmages we have I wish they would go a little more all out and stop making it a glorified breaking up into groups practice and really scrimmage..

But I'll start building a little more expectation when I see tackling real tackling people going to the ground that's why I want to see them against another team I want to see them really showcase some of that physicality that we're hearing but you can't really judge that against our own..

Since 1995 we had 2007, 2014, and arguably 2016. Other than that, we had zero chance at a championship, and I don't care what our record was. Our overall team was not good enough.

Correct. We were never a super bowl contenders during the three 12 win seasons.

I'd have to ask the same thing back. How can you not assess the additions and see us as a playoff team? That might be even more delusional.

It’s all hype at this point . Despite obviously having a better roster on defense no one knows how it’s going to shake out.

My biggest concern. No backup QB.

No it's not. It's evaluation and assessment, which leads to an easy conclusion. This team should make the playoffs. Why would you pay much attention to the hype anyway?
 
Voted (D) im not expecting a good season again like I didnt last season. Hoping to be suprised like in 2016. They could have a good season possibly though. Depends on how good the defense is and/or if the schedule ends up not being as tough as it looks.

I don’t make any assessments until the season begins. The rest is hype to me.

Evaluation and assessment are over rated until results come in. That’s what I’m interested in evaluating and assessing.

Not sure why we’d expect this team will make playoffs. How can we know there’s not 7 teams better in NFC? What if Dak goes down. Predictions come dime a dozen my friend . It’s a long season.

Mainly cause we haven’t seen us perform yet. And I haven’t seen the rest of the NFC perform yet.

Could we be a playoff team? Sure. If our offense is as good and our defense is vastly improved. We could and should be a playoff contender. Will we make playoffs. Nobody knows.

But there’s always contributing factors like how much improved is rest of our division and rest of conference. Will there be any key injuries, etc.

To me it’s foolish to make such predictions. Pure hype and fools gold. Especially with our history this era.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath until at least kick off Sept 13th:)
