Sticky: Poll: How confident are you about this team going into 2026?

How confident are that the Cowboys have turned it around for 2026?

Well, ultimately even Jethro takes full responsibility. And only quoting part of the entire thought dilutes the overall message and point.
Your first paragraph can be used independently of the rest of your post. In summary:
  • Your first paragraph establishes the premise all (e.g. everyone) acknowledges to some degree Jerry Jones as an obstacle
  • Your second paragraph is a breakdown of commentors' use of the world 'never'
  • Your third paragraph is a statement of your feelings concerning Jerry Jones and how you have felt about him may not be eternal ("No one can know for sure")
  • Your fourth paragraph is an acknowledgement of the context of Bobhaze's opening post
I understand if you still disagree.

We can directly hold him accountable which as much as I despise his ways admire he doesn’t avoid responsibility.
Personally, I would not like to get into this, Diehardblues. I understand where you are coming from. You know I know where you are coming from. You have always maintained fans can organize and make Jones not do what he has and continues to do. I agree with the idea and desired outcome. What I will always say 'no mas' to is for any discussion that lacks the necessary, serious, intricate, fully planned, nationwide economic and public cooperation that would motivate him into, AT minimum, stepping down as general manager. If and until that happens, I am officially Roberto Durán.

In the end regardless of the impacts on individual details as you have eloquently pointed out the buck still stops with him.
Agreed.

And I’d argue all fans see this. If not they should:)
Yes.

They s-h-o-u-l-d.

For the record when I initially introduced my campaign to ouster Jethro as GM we were still at Texas Stadium as a large group of long time season tickets holders refusing to buy in to new stadium.

And felt if fans had held out committing to PSL’s it could have forced his hand if there was tens of thousands of empty seats. Unfortunately many of us former season tickets holders were replaced by business and corporate customers who now often broker out their seats and we’ve seen the current climate evolve over the years at AT&T with thousands of opposing fans .

Much has transpired since my early efforts in 2008 including a huge influx of Americans moving into Texas and Metroplex from all over the country bringing their fandom with them often filling the stadium.

I always felt the stadium is where our impact would have made the most impact on him surrendering his stranglehold on football operations at least in name as GM.

Unfortunately I no longer feel it’s possible to deliver due to uncontrollable factors unforeseen 18 years ago despite the overwhelming displeasure of results this era and area fans dissatisfied with his efforts.

It’s a different climate now in the NFL where results no longer drive the interest in fans supporting their local or regional team. It’s become more of a Mecca entertainment entity that plays football which my initial intentions will fall short. And I rarely even mention anymore.

Personally I continue my objections of physical and financial support and share within my closet contacts but those public efforts and campaign are long over realizing they were exhausted years ago.

And I’d add when I say we can still hold him accountable which you quoted and separated I meant in verbally speaking out against him . Not that it will result in my original campaign to ouster as GM.

But we can still hold his feet to the fire and make him publicly respond which he has done. It’s not going to bring the results we are looking for but at least he has to face the scrutiny.

But I bring this up cause some fans want to think he’s not in control over football operations anymore. Like only in name. He certainly wouldn’t admit taking a lesser role so we shouldn’t take our feet off the pedal.

Even the most Teflon proof celebrity’s hate facing public ridicule. And if that’s what our voice has been reduced to I’d encourage.

No problem giving up. To each his own but because you’re so miserable over it, you’re unable to enjoy the season or the games. That’s too bad.
You are so miserable because you can't force us to either agree in lockstep with you, or be banned from posting, to enjoy the season or the games. That's hilarious, actually.

Just pointing out the obvious. All you do is criticize folks who post something positive.

I've seen this team get off to great starts in the past and then fold like a hot potato
This isnt the same team lol , it is different each year.
We have new coaches and new players, the coaches are young , so will be more likely to adapt and be innovative.
I think they will do good this season, but I am not looking for a SB, just want them to win the div mainly and be in the playoffs.

Yet every year it's the same results. Coaches change, players change but the Cowboys remain the same. I've heard it all before. I suppose one year someone will finally be Right. Just don't know if I'll be Alive to see it. I could see us maybe winning the division and making the playoffs. We've done that plenty of times this century. So that really isn't nothing different. 4 playoff wins this century.

Some could argue that giving up is being positive each year, instead of getting mad and voicing your opinion, as Jerrah continues to milk his cash cow. Jerrah is really going to pay attention to that cute puppy who faithfully going to wag his tail every year...

That was a joke among friends ....... I am not surprised you do not get that since you have none.

As far as giving up ...... how long into the season will it take you to do your disappearing act?

I say at 9 loses.
He gave up by being positive every year, deluding himself that this year is going to be different as long as you put a positive spin on it. The perfect fan for Jerrah.

Since 1996, all those teams above were different each year. They experienced coaching (both young and old) turnover. They drafted and signed free agent players. During the past three decades, at least one of the 30 different teams belonging to those 28 franchises fielded, adapted, and won one or more playoff divisional round games.

On the other hand, the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, and Dallas Cowboys have fielded 30 different teams during that same stretch. Those four teams have been the same in one aspect: none of their 30 different teams have gotten within a stone throw's way of even trying for a chance at a championship.

There is another difference between Miami, Cleveland, Houston, and Dallas. Three franchises hired and fired general managers over the past three decades during their playoff futility, while one of the franchises has not.

B and C still command nearly 70% of total votes combined, BUT only eight votes separate the two opinions. That's freaking tight. I would have never guessed it would be that close. It may come down to a wire finish tomorrow afternoon. In my best Mr. Spock impression, "Fascinating..."

Im more bullish on the team this upcoming season compared to the last two

Combination of aquiring proven talent and the possibility that the new DC will bring a new younger vision to our 30th ranked defense.

I still look to the 2027 season for being a legit contender but that is predicated on making strides this season in 3 particular facets improving......defense, penalties and turnovers.

We have to admit that we have inexperienced HC and Coordinators at their new positions but at the end of the day it makes them neither good nor bad......merely inexperienced......which is not an advantage

Wow

This is gonna prove one thing ........ and it's gonna be glorious.
