Cowboys at Seahawks Preseason Pregame Thread

In a shell, we'll see: A simple version of Parker's defense that simply tries not to look foolish, and a whole lot of guys trying to stay away from 9-to-5 jobs.

I'll have my eyes on LT Overton and Devin Moore on Defense and on Offense, pretty much everyone at one time or another.

Need to see one of the younger WRs ball out, need to see a backup OT step up and look solid, and at least one RB make a case for RB2, and then of course how Howell/Milton look. I'm rooting for Milton but we need to see him make a noticeable improvement in throwing with touch — can't be rocketing every pass.
I'm hoping we get enough of Lawrence to see if he can get some pressure. Eze and Gary won't be out there. I'm not sure on Houston, but we need to see some pressure from these ends. Of course, Seattle isn't playing its starters, either, so it won't mean much except maybe a backup on our team is better than a backup on theirs.

Highly anticipated with my Downs jersey scheduled to deliver today as well. Don't care if it's preseason...it's Cowboys football ladies and gents!!!

So, what are we expecting to see tonight at 8 pm Eastern as the Cowboys play in Seattle?
Mostly backups will be playing, so I am focusing on consistent execution and *extra* effort. A number of these players will not see the active and practice squads, but what coaches have ingrained into them can be a good indicator of how well starters should perform.

Only thing I’m watching is special teams

Camden Brown
Michael Trigg
Devin Moore
Anthony Smith

These guys making the 53 will likely come down to them playing special teams, especially on the coverage side of things
Moore makes the team. That's probably it.

...all I know is Dallas football is back.

How will the rooks do? I like to see Barron tonight. Those instincts might be real. :)>

He's probably going to switch to 2 before the season starts.
Yeah I knew that risk. I'll just keep the tags on and exchange. I just wanted something new for the season. But if I cant send it back that was 150$ down the tube. I'll buy another so whatevs.

Overton is the guy I have a lil extra interest in too.

I would consider keeping it if the number changes. The original jersey may garner some degree of collector value if Caleb Downs goes on to have a successful or even great career. Of course, other factors (manufacturer, apparel production numbers, etc.) would ultimately matter in increasing or decreasing its value, too.

I'll feel comfy to be keeping our starters on the bench and seeing what we can do with our backups. Most teams we play in the preseason are likely to play more starters than we do. That has been what we have seen in the past and I doubt this preseason will be any different. Putting our starters at risk of injury wouldn't be the wisest way to handle things in the games that don't really count. It's practical.

With that being the case, I'll be looking forward to seeing the talent level that we have with the young rookies and the rest of those who aren't likely to start in the regular season. It's fun and educational.
Let's hope for some nice surprises from players who need more seasoning. It's always a pleasure to see good young players stepping up in the preseason. It provides us with hope for a bright future.
