OXNARD, Calif. – The Cowboys have agreed to terms with veteran outside linebacker Von Miller, bringing one of the NFL's most decorated pass rushers to Dallas.

Miller, 37, is a native of Desoto, Texas, located just 30 minutes away from AT&T Stadium. Now, going into his 15th NFL season, he'll get to suit up for his hometown team.

Earlier in the offseason, Miller posted an image of himself photoshopped in a Cowboys uniform on Instagram among other social media posts that indicated his interest in heading to Dallas. That has now been fulfilled.

When you need a big play, he can still produce. Great signing.

What's next, are they going to dig up Vince Lombardi's corpse and have him mentor Schotty?

Not to pick on the guy because he's still much younger than me, but most pass rushers are done by age 32. Miller is 37.
This is what constant negativity does to a person. They become bitter and negativity becomes just natural for them. It’s who they become.

I keep seeing this posted but does anyone really know if he’s the mentoring type? Does he even know how to teach?

I think many are hoping that his veteran experience just rubs off on the young guys.
Check his resume. He talks - they’ll listen. If they don’t he’ll take em out back and bends and thrusts them until they do.

Miller isn’t, ‘most pass rushers’
Elite athletes look after their bodies and therefore can defy Father Time that little bit longer…
And his presence alone will push his teammates to give a bit extra.

Fan however one likes, but there’s no reason not to like this move.

This is not a progress stopper situation. They all rotate anyway. It’s not a great move, but a very good one.

Bringing in Miller. Is it really worth it.
What player will be gone because of this?
It will force them to go short at another position. Or lose a LB.
So I will go with they know what they are doing. Or is this another Jerry bringing In a guy move just to make a splash.

Who goes.
Milton or Howel unless they were already planning on keeping only 2 anyway.
A young WR, unless somehow they keep 6.
Trigg, as they keep only 3 TE's. And no, they will not cut Schoonmaker over Trigg (at this point anyway)

This most likely regardless of any of those other roster choices. Pushes player like Liafau, Barron, Houston off the roster. And no, Williams will before those 3.
does a player like James get cut as well at LB.

Do they go short at DB's I instead.
He had 9 sacks last year. The player he replaces will not be half the player Miller is.

I don’t hate the move. He will be a nice rotational player and he can mentor the youngins
Meh....progress stopper. Gonna be ticked off when they gotta cut Houston and split reps with Lawrence. I will be shocked if he ends up with more than 3 or 4 sacks.

We need Linebacker depth. IMO, this was a great addition to the team, he will bring a real value to that room. I just hope his contract is team-friendly.

I hate to throw a wet blanket over this, but Miller is going to have zero impact on this team as far as making plays. His experience and knowledge will be a good thing. But that's about it. He's not an impact player.

I love this move. Dude lead the Commanders in sacks and had more sacks then any player on our team last season. And he can teach our young guys on defense how to prepare and play like a hall of famer. Not just film but daily work ethic.
