I don't want to overreact to one preseason game

The only thing to be a little excited about is that for first time in a while this team might have some depth.

For me, it was Milton
What a different from the last season
Poised, accuracy, pressed a little bit when he flushed out of the pocket, but that’s confidence that comes with playtime

I thought the D looked prepared and capable, unlike in years past. I was hoping I'd see that and I did so I'm happy.
The back up O-line was meh at best. Still room for improvement there.
Special teams still needs work.
The RB's looked pretty good. Davis and Blue especially. Mafah was meh.
Back up QB's weren't an issue so I guess that's good. I will say that the ball jumps off Milton's hand, wow! He has a cannon, but no touch? Howell looks like a back up. He's ok for a bit, but not for the long term.
The top 3 WRs CD, GP and Flournoy are locked in as evident by their absence in the game.
Brown made 2 really great catches for TDs and has been talked about all throughout camp. I can't see them passing on him unless he falls off a cliff. Would he make it to the PS? IDK?
MVS is washed up and only a vet camp body. He will be cut.
A Smith is a draft pick has some real juice so I think they will want to keep him around. They may try to sneak him to the PS though, and I'm not sure he would make it either.
Mingo is a solid vet back up. I think they'd really like to keep him. But they will not be able to keep him, Brown, Smith and Turpin. 6 is a reach this year and 7 is out of the question. Could Turpin be the other odd man out?
It's good to see that deciding on depth pieces will be very difficult for a change.

Seems like a good bet at this point, although we might want to keep the draft pick (Anthony Smith). As Parcells said, a late-round pick pretty much is the same as a UDFA, though, so if the UDFA is better ...
Smith looked fast, but soft out there to me. What did you think? He did separate well on that crosser from Milton, right?

I don't know. Nothing really stood out to me except the pass where the Seahawks blitzed and Milton threw the ball where Smith should have been. (Smith continued the route instead of setting it down, understanding that it had to be a quick pass because of the blitz.)

Yall know the defense was running vanilla plays against vanilla offense right? No actual gameplanning. I get being excited bc dudes were doing the basics. And about the way depth looked. But don't crown em yet. Detroit went 4 - 0 in the preseason and then 0 -16 in the regular season. Not saying thats what could happen here. Bc that is highly unlikely. But slow the hype down. Hold into the hope.

Nobody is trying to hype anything up, but this is the time of year to have hope. This thread is just about seeing what people's impressions are after Saturday's game. There's a lot of positive to take from it, even if it was vanilla.

Yeah, he's probably more of a practice squad guy right now. Luckily we're loaded at WR, so whatever. I'll be looking forward to seeing how our top 3 look if they can all stay healthy. Go Cowboys!

What if Lamb goes down for the season Week 1 ?
Flournoy has looked good when given more snaps, so we'd have to see who could pick up the third-receiver snaps. IMO, Turpin was set to be that guy last year before Flournoy stepped up. I think he gets underestimated in his value as a receiver because of what we have at the position. Some are ready to trade him or cut him for receivers who have proven nothing.

Until they prove it in a playoff series ....... I will never believe.
I know people want to pretend to be a better fan that anyone else. They'll question your Cowboys fandom and accuse you of being a philly or 'manders fan to make themselves feel better about their lonely pathetic lives. We shouldn't give them the time of day.

But you can be enthusiastically cautious, and still cheer them on as hard as anyone.

Can;t figure out why these keyboard warriors think we have to fan exactly like they do or we're not fans. Takes a lot of gull and hate to do that. So beware and note them and call them out.

No...I am not calling out how you fan. I am calling out how you hate other fans that don't do exactly as you demand. If you love and cheer and buy and hope ...all that is fine. But bullying other people to do it exactly like you do...well I have words...but I'll just leave it that I disagree with you that people have to do it like you do. Or else/
