Shoonmaker has got to go!

I don't know what some of you are smoking, but Shoon had like 14 receptions last year with zero tds at only 132 yards. There are no NFL tangibles he possess and his ceiling is low. This is one of those Jerry things where he hangs on because of draft position, Trigg has monster ability, they should roll with him this year and get him much needed experience, lots of pundits thought Trigg was easily a top 100 player but dropped because of character issues. I know many of are gun shy with randory gregory types, but there is sometimes another side to the coin and guys just have to mature or got a bad rap. I just feel shoon is useless, I think Trigg has a lot to prove and a hell of alot more talent.

Yeah if you can get a 6th or better for him have at it. But cutting him makes no sense. His problem seems to be opportunity.

yeah I think he’s lost his burst and athleticism. Not that he was all world but he had it and I saw a high ceiling. But he’s lost it since his injury. Those 2 yards per catch in feel anyone can do….(I know he’s not that bad but he should have better production.

His injury was a really bad concussion. Media says he looks real good in this camp.

Schoon has done exactly what he was drafted to do. Block and special teams.

Spann Ford does neither. Your undervaluating Schoon's value.

Spann-Ford played 243 snaps on STs and he is a better blocker than Schoonmaker which is part of why he took over the 2nd TE role.

I understand that it's unlikely for schoon to traded, but the guy is below average and lacks any real strength. I just don't see how you don't go with spann ford or trigg over shoon if they keep balling... Some guys are ready to come into the league and contribute, it looks to me like trigg could be one of those guys with his abilities.

Trigg was not drafted for a reason.

Trigg looked better in a the few series he played than shoon ever has. This will show me if jerry is finally getting smarter and getting over his player coddling. Trigg has some serious upside and seems to also block.

Yeah, JJ isn't going to be dumping Shoon anytime soon, especially since he was a HIGH draft pick. His pride won't allow it.............

When Dallas drafted Schoonamker, Dalton Schultz left in free agency and Jake Ferguson was coming off a 19 catch rookie season.

The Cowboys had no idea Ferg would emerge so they drafted Schoon out of need.

Trigg is a recieving TE.

Schoon is a blocking TE.

You are using the wrong criteria to judge them.

And I don't know which we prefer. Do we want another blocking tight end, not as good as Spann-Ford but better than Trigg. Or do we want a guy who is out there making plays in the passing game. I don't think we can keep both rosterwise. I do think it is up to Trigg to stand out so much as a receiver that we feel like we can't risk him to waivers. If he can do that, then maybe we see what we can get for Schoonmaker and give him a chance to go find a role with another team. He's going to leave in free agency next year anyway.

Hendershot really fell off. I thought we had our No. 1 and No. 2 tight ends and then he just bottomed out.

I think Trigg can push him off the ledge . Then carry a 4th TE on the PS . Trigg can be a part of a passing attack I see no evidence Schoon can be that at all . Carson & Schoon need to churn the roster .

Trigg did Saturday night what I saw tapes of Baylor showed . He catches a pass he’s rumbling down near the sideline defenders are hanging on to him and he discarded one like he was taking out the trash . I love that physical aspect of his receiving .
