Schoonmaker has got to go!

The obsession w/ cutting players before someone beats them out is just so strange. It's especially odd when the obsession is about keeping one bottom of the roster player over another.

Someone once said “ churn the roster “ . I mean after one PS game Trigg looks like a much better option for Dak then any other 3rd TE on the roster . Players do lose roster spots . Carson at CB .

Like the broadcaster said during the Seattle game he plays CB with his hands instead of his feet drawing PI and holding penalties . Enough , try Bridges as depth in Arizona , anyone.

I still think Schoon has value as a #2-3 TE on most teams. He was overdrafted, which is not his fault. He's not trash, but he never was the guy he was purported to be, which was a supposed dominant blocker coming out of Michigan. I have zero issues with him being the #3 TE on our team behind Ferg and Spann-Ford if that's what it came down to.

Yup,

He’s gonna be UFA after the season.

I would say he is a bust though.

Ferg took his job.

Mazi, Sam Williams, schoon, and Guyton. Bad picks.

Ferg is TE1.

Honest questions:

Does the team put too much weight on ST play? Especially with all the changes to kickoff rules?

Seems like those changes have lessened the difficulty of coverage units. I'm not sure ST participation should "justify" a job when a player isn't very good at their position. Surely we could find someone better as a TE who can also play ST's pretty well.
ST would also include punt coverage and returns, and punt blocking, and fg's.
They do seem to value ST players, and maybe they do value them too much.

I dont know i've been playing Madden 27 and i am killing it with the 2 TE sets and motioning him around. he's caught more passes than Ferg at this point and im only 1/4 of the way in to the season.
nah, your just spamming throws to Schoon! HA

I am just the kind of guy, like so many here, that will stand up and say I told you so. I was screaming on draft day after they passed up on O'Cyrus Torrance to take Schooncrapper. Now one of the heralded graybeards in leadership here continues to remind that the team was in the market for a TE and Torrance was not on their radar.

That may be so, but the fact remains Torrance is a force and Schoonflopsum was a wasted 2nd no matter how you cut the baloney.

So hats off to me, the once in a lifetime prognosticator on a second round pick that is more self interested in showing off about his prediction than allowing this go fade away in history.

Being a person of low to no character rarely, but sometimes comes in handy.
Torrance was definitely the obvious choice on draft day and in retrospect. Grandpa Schoon has done nothing for this team that they couldn't have gotten out of a JAG street FA

Trigg has more upside, but he won't be our starter or number 2 even. The team will go with Schoon because they trust him, he knows the system better and is a safer option incase of injuries.

I don't see Schoon being the odd man out this year. I know he catches a lot of flack on this board and yes he was a huge reach in the draft but he has a role on this team being our best blocking tight end. And with our shaky OTs we definitely will need some chip blocks in 12 personnel to slow down edge rushers.

He is not our best blocking TE.

Did he? Did you examine his blocking?

Along w/ more downside.
